Stu- Thank you for you for your kind commments. I know it has been said many times, to the point of cliche, but without the fans none of it would happen and that is just appreciated and respected. I do believe that in this day and age, everything is changing and we have to the capabilites to do things differently than ever before. The ability to exchange information and dialogue creates some possibilities that are interesting for all involved and limited only by ideas. On that note and I welcome any ideas on how to make any of this better, be it this forum, the website or whatever. Thanks again.

Sorry, but there is no mystery here. There is no Amacker. I checked the website you saw it on and the link is no longer working. I also checked several other of the unofficial lyric sites and didn’t see it anywhere else. It had to have been some type of misprint.

Studio time has already been reserved to record the next record in Jan. and Feb.
I think you can expect that Tears Of Joy, Rarity, The Knowing, Jailhouse Tears, Honey Bee and Well, Well, Well -all songs she has played live over the last year plus, will almost for sure be on the the record.

There are a lot of back stories from all of the LA and NY, but the NY ones are the freshest right now so I thought you might them interesting and enlightening, and a peek at what high wire act some of this was. And some of it is just for the record.
Lucinda was never aggravated or pissed during the last night-she did get a little flustered when she restarted Passionate Kisses, because she had planned it all day to be the birthday song for Tom. But that’s Lucinda, even in that case she wanted it to be just right.
David Byrne did ride his bike over, and actually had ridden over on Tues and was hanging out before the show. He left saying that he thought he would be able to come back later for the second set. He later called and said that he couldn’t make it but that he might be able to make it Weds, which he didn’t. On Thurs morning another very high profile artist called and said he was sick and that he would not be able to make it. Twenty minutes later David Byrne called and said he wanted to come by. He asked to do Over Time because he loved the song and listened to Lucinda and Willie’s version on his Ipod. At the same time it was discovered that somehow David Johansen thought he was suposed to come on Weds night, and was not expecting to show up on Thurs until that afternoon. Both of them ended coming to rehearsals and working on their songs and were extremely great to everyone in the band and crew. David Byrne did Heaven as Lucinda’s personal request becuase she used to do it years ago.
Take Me To The River (and with all due respect it is an Al Green song not a David Byrne song), however was not rehearsed, and was completey impromptu. It was thought that it would be the perfect song to end the ten shows, and David Byrne was asked during the song right before it if he could do it, and he smiled and said “okay sure”. Afterward everyone in the band marvelled at how great he sang.
In regards to Weds night the reason that it turned into a bit of a hootenanny was because Joan Osborne and a couple others just showed uo and Lucinda wanted everyone to come out and play and have equal time.
Again most of the second set was not rehearsed and done on the fly, which made for a bit of a different night, but in the end everyone had a great time.
Just a glimpse at how spontaneous some of these shows were.

Here is what is happening. As was mentioned at the top of this topic, it was decided, with an eye to the future, to take the extra time now and create the infrastructure for a permanent cd store for the LW webite. As i’m sure anybody in IT knows, things can sometimes get more complicated than anticipated. The gory details are that we are currently in the process of getting the “back end” of the new store to speak with the back end (insert joke here) of the fulfillment company’s system so everything will be automated and each days orders will process every night. The fun stuff.

In addition the cd’s that were already made (and the duplicators) were shipped with the band equipment after the last NY show and expected to arrive ealier this week. They are now arriving tomorrow (Fri.). The reason for the 10-14 day process time was to allow for these types of complications.

So anyway, what this all means is that I am told I will have the cd’s tomorrow and am going to bypass the fulfillment company for the initial orders and do them myself.
It may be a long night tomorrow night, and I have already begun some of the steps, but I hope to have all of the orders in the mail Sat., which is Day 13. Worst case scenario is Mon., but every effort will be made to have every order out Sat., because promises must be kept. In the very near future all orders will process daily.
    I appreciate everyone’s patience.

Thank you very much for your comments. It was a risky and expensive undertaking on top of everything else, and all done in house. It was done with the hope that it would be met positively enough to continue to do some of these types of things next year. So needless to say the comments are appreciated and hold weight.

The second sets were filmed, apparently there is about 100 hours of film. As mentioned before, they were also recorded, it is very difficult to get clearances when other artists are involved. That being said, the shows were filmed and much investment made for them not to sit on the shelf.

The LA shows will start shipping later this week and the hope is that the NY shows may be able to be included in any orders that had both.

For the WWT mistake, an address will be provided where it can returned and the replacements will be sent out asap. One note that everyone should be aware of is that some between song talking had to be edited out to fit in People Talkin’. The disc was nearly 80 minutes without PT, and so a couple of minutes had to hit the cutting room floor. NO music was edited out, nor was the poem Pity The Nation. Just wanted to be up front about that.
    Sorry for any inconvenience.

Right now there is no plan for digital downloads, as that was not part of the original deal. It may be revisited at a later date.

Yes -you can definitely replace your old one. I do not know if the poem is on there or not. I know the disc is at its full 80 minute capacity.

WWT is fixed. It was re-edited to put back People Talkin’. And the version currently available in NY is the corrected version.

It was a mistake made during the edit and People Talkin was accidentally left out. In fact the song introduction is there, but not the song-which is evidence that it was a mistake and not a consious decision. Everything possible is being left in -and the edits are only beiing made to keep them under the 80 minute maximum, which almost all of the discs are. It will be fixed asap. Sincerely sorry for any inconvenience.

Not even sure how you knew about that song. I don’t recall her ever having played it live. At least not for a long time anyway. She may have done it when her and Doug did the duo shows.
It is a great song. Almost made it on to West. Will probably be on the next record.
I don’t think there is a new band arrangement, and whether there would be time to work it up, given that the band has to learn the special guest songs every day. But not a bad idea.
