A fine, but not a really great show in Paradiso. Got the idea that there was no real chemistry between Lucinda, David and Doug. At least not untill late in the show. And I missed Blue.. one of the greatest songs by Lucinda. Oh well, it can not always be as fantastic as in Utrecht in 2009 🙂
HaarlemParticipantwrote:(mind you, Lucinda didn’t play in NL during 2004).You are right, I ment in 2003, not 2004
HaarlemParticipantDon’t get me wrong, I enjoyed the show (and the festival). In 2004 Lucinda also made a ‘false start’ and changed the setlist. Nothing wrong with that. I also prefer that artists do that and anticipate on the atmosphere while they are playing than having someone perform as a robot and just ‘do their thing’. But I get a bit irritated when on a 75 minute show, there are four or five (sometimes long) interruptions because the band has to decide to play which song next.
(Did you see more bands playing yesterday? I loved Nathan Hamilton!)HaarlemParticipantI saw Lu in Paradiso, Amsterdam in 2004 and 2006. I was looking forward to the show in the Patronaat in Haarlem, last night. Altough it was not bad, I was a bit dissapointed.
I had the impession Lucinda did not really was in good shape. After she forgot her lines in the second song (can happen to all of us) she did not seem to get the show on the road. A lot of conversations with the band to adjust the setlist over and over again and it seemed to me she did not realy liked the gig herself.
And why did she not play any song from her latest album, West? Only at the last three songs of the gig, I saw the ‘old’ Lucinda from 2004 and 2006 back.
