gazelleParticipant
In the UK at the moment we are getting TV advertisements for the series ‘CLARICE’ based on silence of the lambs. It starts here on the 27/12/21. I did a bit of research on it and noticed that many of the episodes are named after Lucinda tracks ie ep 3 ;are you alright’ ep5 ‘get right with god’ etc etc does anyone have info on this or am I just ‘ramblin’
gazelleParticipantEh,a slang word for head, in uk , is dish try that an hum, I bottled out of waiting behind ,after the Perth(scotland) concert last summer, to star struck.
gazelleParticipantCongratulations, from Scotland , what a greatcool way to get married, the more that I that read and hear of this girl the more I admire her, the photos of Tom are the first Ive seen of him ,he looks like a big strong guy with a kind face. I still have great memories of the concert in Perth earlier this year, and remember this ‘IF MAMAS HAPPY WERE HAPPY’. Dont work to hard and please come back over and spend some quality time.
gazelleParticipantI phoned Perth box office today and purchased 4 tickets, also Perth isn,t really in middle of nowhere,it is a lovely town ‘ the gateway to the scottish highlands’ a truly wonderful part of the world, what a bonus to have Lucinda and band so close to home .I think I might head to one of the shows in europe aswell for a bit of adventure this summer I will keep an eye on Germany and Netherlands,as we now have a direct flight from INVERNESS to Dusseldorf, if the band do get a taste for the Scottish Highlands, Inverness is another great town where they would be welcome Iam sure, now Iam pushing my luck .
gazelleParticipantIve just logged onto ticketmaster.co.uk and couldn,t believe my eyes Lucinda ,playing Perth (Scotland),on the 1st August, is this really true, thats in the middle of nowhere and just down the road from where I stay ,Dr W will surely be intrested in this turn of events.
gazelleParticipantI have been keen to see more live shows I was considering combining my passion for travelling and L.W. with a trip to one of the shows in 08, the mountain winery concert appealed, from my home in Northern Scotland I could fly to Dublin and then there are great connections from the Republic of Ireland to the USA, east and west coasts. This trip would probably have cost more than £1000[$1650, at the moment], but Iam sure it would have been worth it, anyway it never happened, mainly due to work commitments. Last week I received my copy of ‘Little Honey’ , and now Iam really keen to see L.W. and the band live.
On the subject of Lucindas muscal style at the moment ,the first three tracks on the album are rock, country and blues, and there is some beautiful folk music aswell ,surely ,something for everyone. I would love to hear an emotional live rendition of ‘Rarity’ , maybe even stretched to, say, twelve minutes long.
Anyway, I will keep on looking out hopefully for news of European dates , and if the band get anywhere within a couple of hours of ‘grenwitch mean time’ I will get to as many shows as time and money will allow. For the moment I will carry on day dreaming of seeing the great lady on her home soil someday.
Ps. is that like, a mistart at the beginning of real love.gazelleParticipantI saw both concerts ,in off corso and patroonaat ,I loved both of them, I think the Rotterdam concert was a very polished performance, and the the crowd responded very well , I really liked the coversation between the songs, Lucinda is a very charming women,I liked the riders on the the storm cover and the the story behind her playing it, and the unpluged solo of passionate kisses {washing the the dishes} each night was superb. The patronaaat concert did not seem as relaxed to me but my wife prefered it, some of the audience were booing and heckling at one point, when the the band were discussing the set change , maybe they thought the were still at a football game or something.. Anway cant wait to get the opportunity to see her again. the other thing I liked at the concerts were the tracks that were playing on the cd before the shows most of which I did not recognise,.More songs from West would have being great aswell.
gazelleParticipantA good Dutch crowd, well you know, a lot of nice people from the the Netherlands gathered together for the appreciation of something really good. I just listened to Minneapolis , I see what you mean about your winter, and can relate to that I live a 100miles North of where Annie Lennox is from [ same latitude as Moscow] nobody comes here, so I really need this fix.
gazelleParticipantIve just been reading all of your posts with great intrest, Iam also quite new to Lucinda, I first heard her about two years ago , by accident, until then I had heard her name and associated her with country music, and assumed that she was probably Don Williams daughter. One evening listening to radio 2 [uk] , there was a documentry on Gram Parsons, and Iwas impressed with his style of music , so purchased a couple of albums and since then enjoyed them, but more importantly I purchased a Gram Parsons tribute dvd [return to sin city] . I enjoyed all of the artists performing all of there versions of Grams songs, but I was blown away by the lady singing near the end of the dvd. Since then I have been a big Lucinda fan , I had the great pleasure of seen her in Glasgow last year , and next week , all been well, I am heading to The Nether lands to see her in Rotterdam and Harllem, Iam really looking forward to the combination of Lucinda and the good Dutch crowd. To sum up, I personally couldn,t describe her as anything other than a master of her craft , pure genious, nothing has moved me so much for years, [maybe Pink Floyd when I was seventeen , and that was along time ago]
gazelleParticipantHello everyone Iam also new to the site, I was giving some consideration to going to the New York shows, but cant justify time of work etc. so I thought I might have a short break in Netherlands and take in the shows there[ I assume Rjissen is in Netherlands] . I had a look on the Patronaat web site, is this concert a full LW gig or just an guest appearance ,also any info on Rjisseen and where to get tickets for both concerts ,
