Thank you for keeping us in the loop. Bring on the “record”. I can’t wait to catch a few shows next tour. Any info. in that regard would be greatly appreciated. I realize that in an earlier post, you mentioned sometime this summer as a starting point. Please excuse my impatience, it’s just that Lucinda is on my short list of artist worth hittin’ the road for. Last year, Lu and the band did not disappoint. With a year under their belt, this year should be smokin’.
fuji81Participantcrickets….
On a more serious note, has anyone here been to a Tift Merritt show?
fuji81ParticipantHappy Birthday Lu… 55 rocks, you’re the best.
fuji81ParticipantThanks for the update. Is Chet along for the ride? This should be a great record, I love that Lu is using the “road dogs” from last tour, as opposed to studio musicians. Nothing against the hired guns, I just think Lu’s recent band is more than up to the task. 9 tracks in 8 days = chemistry.
fuji81ParticipantWhat a coincidence, my wife hates Lucinda. On a lighter note, it is interesting to hear how other people “discovered” Lucinda. For me it was that Crossroads show with Elvis Costello. I remember thinking. wow… that voice sounded like no other. Pierced my soul, and I’ve been on the bus ever since. I envy all those who have been with her since the beginning. No regrets, better late than never.
fuji81ParticipantThat is good to hear. I hope Lu sticks with this current lineup, including Chet. With a tour under their belt, next year looks great. Please consider Buffalo’s TownBallroom next time around…not as “nice” as UB, but definately less “stuffy”. In my humble opinion.
ps 2 night stand would be heaven. inside job… Thanks for all you do.fuji81ParticipantVCR, what’s that? Just kidding. I’m excited about the show, and really looking forward to the next album/tour. Yeah, I said album…old habits die hard.
fuji81ParticipantThere is a God, THANK YOU!
fuji81ParticipantYes! To the powers that be, please make the shows available. Thank You.
fuji81ParticipantLu and her amazing band… Thank You for Utica. I drove in from Buffalo, and it was well worth the drive. Thanks for switching up the setlist, esp. Bus to Baton Rouge. Great crowd, Great show, Great Band… I hope they stick around for many years to come. ps LOVE Honey Bee.
fuji81ParticipantArtpark is a beautiful location for a concert, you and your family will love it. Do yourself a favor and show up early, and enjoy the quaint little town. Show starts at 6:30pm with Charlie Louvin. Lu should come on an hour or so later. Lets hope the rain holds out.
fuji81ParticipantI heard Hate Machines from the recent Saratoga show. Honey Bee is new to me. Looking forward to catching a few shows in NY.
fuji81ParticipantWow, this is too good to be true. Free Lu concert, at Artpark. Life is good.
fuji81Participantsmitquest,
Welcome, I agree that the later half of the show was definately cranked up to 11! Lu was beautiful, funny, raw, and exposed all night.
The entire show was stellar. Vocal and instrumental highlights were too numerous to mention. Everything from 2 Kool>Joy blew the roof off.
GREAT show, Lu and her “new” band are just hitting their stride. You folks out West are in for a real treat. If you are a fan of The Love Band, give these guys a shot.fuji81ParticipantI thought the band breathed fire last night. A few vocal flubs aside, this was the best of the shows I’ve seen this tour. Carrie and her band were fabulous once again. More details to come, once I get my head back
