    First Set

The “ballads” were played with tremendous sensitivity all night. The combination of great acoustics and great audience(no untimely yelps)made for some truly magical moments. “I Envy The Wind”, “Blue”, and “Overtime” were sung by an angel with a broken heart. The longing, the aching beauty… words fall short. The “rockers” blew the roof off the joint. Buick 6 ripped it up, without overpowering the vocals. The mix was awesome.
Eric’s contributions to “Out Of Touch” and “Essence” in particular, have come along way IMO. I knew we were in for a special night, when Lu commented early on about how happy she was with the sound in the room. We all know, when Mama’s happy, everybody’s happy. Sunday night, Mama was happy.

Congratulations, Tom and Lu. If you still need a minister to officiate the matrimonial shenanigans, I would love to offer my services. I am an ordained minister, and a resident cheerleader.
    Love and Peace,

Tim, if I could talk my wife into visiting my daughter in Albany, I’d like to squeeze in that show in beautiful Lake George,NY this summer. Should be a great time at the Iron Horse. Feel free to post your review!

Nice to see some recognition. I had the privilege of seeing Eilen and her fabulous band last year at the grassroots festival in New York. If she is in your area, check her out. Cheap tickets & Good music.

Angel is a great cover for Lu, definitely one of the highlights of the Burlington show. Also, loved The Things I Used To Do and Every Picture Tells A Story in Rochester. It would be awesome to see an official release of some of this stuff IMO. While I grovel, any show northeast of Cincinnati would be greatly appreciated! Cleveland?Erie?Buffalo?Hamilton?Toronto? If not, thank you for two memorable shows this past tour.

    Purely Subjective Report!
Rochester was one of the best all around Lucinda shows I’ve seen in quite some time. I could do without the bar chatter, and the ballroom was not built for sound, but massive kudos to the guy at the board. Lucinda’s spot on vocals during Happy Woman Blues told me that we were in for a special night. Speaking of happy, Lucinda and Buick6 were exchanging smiles, hugs, and kisses all night. Quite the contrast from Burlington, which was a good show, especially the acoustic portion of Side Of The Road>When We Talk>Jackson, and a stellar version of Angel during the encore.
I honestly thought that I would find myself missing Doug’s guitar work, but I have to “give it up” to Eric and Chet, there were very few holes in the music. Actually, I thought the whole band was fabulous all night. There is no doubt, Eric is feeling more at home in the songs. Blistering work during Bleeding Fingers, and all the “rock” songs for that matter. Chet really shined during Come On(youtube…Check it out). I have grown a bit tired of that song, but they rocked the house with it. Highlights are too many to mention, and it was great to see Lu bouncing around(literally), and so happy! There was a point during Honey Bee that captured the entire night. She kept looking to her right, and smiling from ear to ear… I assume Tom was there? Thank you, Lucinda and Buick6 for such a great show in Rochester. Have a wonderful time in Australia.

ps… Thank you for that beautiful version of Overtime.

Nice setlist… I’ll take those first ten songs to open a show anytime! I am officially excited about this tour.

How about a 30 minute version of Dark Star? Just kidding, although a Good Lovin’ > Turn On Your Lovelight >Not Fade Away medley would be a nice flashback.

I’m thrilled that Chet,David, and Butch are still along for the ride. Welcome to the family Eric. If Lucinda’s happy, I’m happy. Sad to see Doug move on, but this change should make for an interesting, and creative tour. Count me in.

There is no “universal yardstick” with which one may measure art. You are wise grasshopper. One man gathers what another man spills. May the new year bring set lists that will blow our minds, and bring happiness to old and new fans alike. Let it be written, let it be done. Amen
