This was the second time my wife and I saw Lucinda. Both times have been here in Winnipeg at the Burt.
The concert was outstanding! I wasn’t sure if she could top her last show but it was even better the second time round. Much more varied set that included songs from most of her albums. It’s not too often you see a musician breaking away from the setlist to take a devoted fan’s request, but we got to see that happen on Friday night at the Burt. Doug Pettibone is also a great musician. Lucinda’s band complement her very well. The sound for the show was exceptional. The band also got a very warm response from the audience as the warm up act. It was awesome hearing their version of Zep’s “Black Dog”. Lucinda road weary? I doubt it. That’s where she gets her inspiration. That’s where the crack in her beautiful unique voice comes from. The show should have been sold out, but I guess too many concert goers blew their entertainment budget dollars on Celine Dion tickets and Halloween costumes!?! Thanks for coming back to the “peg”, Lucinda. Come back again soon!
