Drunken AngelParticipant
The egotistical Rove probably thinks she wrote about him with, “You don’t ever show your sweet side…..”
Drunken AngelParticipantWhen Like A Rose plays in TransAmerica, it is nothing short of awesome.
One of my favorite LuSongs from a movie is Terry Allen’s Bloodlines from the film The Baby Dance. I’ve not been able to find that song anywhere.
Drunken AngelParticipantVery well stated, Philthy.
Drunken AngelParticipantThank you for your response, Rachel.
Glad to know there is someone else familiar and loves this song. It is indeed haunting and beautiful, in the truest Lucinda fashion.I’ve heard of Dimeadozen but am not that computer savvy and not sure how the torrent sites work. I may have to check their listings anyway. Thanks for the info!
I’m posting the lyrics for anyone interested. Imagine Lucinda’s voice accompanied only by a slow subtle accordion and a pound of a deep bass drum which emphasizes the last verse.
Oh my mother
She is a mountain
And her breast
It touch the skyAnd my father
He is a river
Running through her
Sweet by and byAnd my sister
She is a songbird
And she’s singing in her flightAnd my brother
He is a moonbeam
Falling on her in the nightThere is a river
Run through the mountains
Under moonlight
Hear the song
Of the bloodlines
Gone long before me
And ever after
