Thanks for that duet version w/EC, LWj.

And thanks again for helping pin down the mysterious yet glorious “KGSR Blue.”

Thanks for almost solving the mystery, LWj!

I am in agreement with TNT that when we hear the actual bonafide In Touch version, we’ll have it pegged.

Boy, this is a dusty thread. Are there any other Patty fans here?

She has a new album coming out in late January called Downtown Church. Produced by Buddy Miller.

Listen to Little Fire w/Emmylou on harmony here….

That’s too bad that you were outbidded at the last minute, TNT. I have a feeling the next time will be the charm.

Thanks for trying to get the info from the YouTube guy, LWj. I actually downloaded Limewire to see if I could find some info on “This Blue.” There were 4 different “Blue” files. I attempted to download 3 of them but each one gave me a prompt that said the files contained viruses and stopped itself from completing the downloads. I deleted Limewire from my computer.

I said “Bird, we just gotta tell them”
But they turn and ignore us
The only heroes we got left
    Are written right before us
And the only angel who sees us now
    Watches through each other’s eyes
    And I can hear him
    In every footstep’s passing sigh
    He goes crazy these nights
    Watching heartbeats go by…
    And they whisper —
    We belong together

Thanks for trying to track this song, everyone.

That In Touch is interesting. I wonder if that may be the YouTube version.
    Looks like it’s available here:

Thanks, Tom O, for commenting – and hopefully Lucinda can shed some light on this version.

*Also excited to know that the demo does exist*

I thought about that third party redubbing idea, too. That maybe they used something to take out the orchestration and most of the electric guitars found on the original. But I don’t think it’s the same vocal track.

The acoustic guitar on the chorus is amazing. At least I think it’s an acoustic guitar.

Blue is one of my favorite LuSongs ever. I happened across that YouTube version and wondered if it might be available somewhere. While I love the Essence version, the stripped-down one just reinforced my love….
    .
And you’re probably right, tntracy, about it being captured in a good live setting.

I’ve seen Lucinda 4 times. She put on a great show every time. There was one where she was quiet, only talking to introduce the songs, but sounded great. Another show, she couldn’t believe how good the acoustics were in the venue and kept commenting on how great it sounded to her and how wonderful the crowd was. She and the band were on fire and so were we. That was one of the best concert experiences ever for me. I met her once after a different show, got her autograph and she was gracious and friendly as could be. And Teresa is totally right. There’s nothing diva about Lu.
