Thanks,DavidK. I went ahead and ordered the CD elsewhere and also got the digital files. I’ll be getting it on vinyl too. I don’t know why Best Buy advertised it that way.

I’m assuming the book is the liner notes and lyrics that Lu includes in her CD’s. I am so appreciative that Lucinda does that still… I savor the reading the lyrics. It’s like having a little book of poetry included with the CD 🙂

I thought that might be it. I used to occasionally see larger booklets as exclusives at some stores that have the same content as the liner notes. The only difference was that the booklet was larger than the insert. One of Bob Dylan’s releases had one of those exclusive to Best Buy books if I’m recalling correctly.

Best Buy has it advertised on their web site as “CD – w/Book.”
What is that book? Is it a Best Buy exclusive?

Thanks for the links to the youtube videos, LWjetta.
I’ve already watched and saved Buttercup. I’m getting ready to leave and will get the other tomorrow.

It was a great show, Stoger. I regret attempting to recreate the encore now. I should have just added the songs I remember to the songs mentioned in the review. It is possible that today when I visualize last night I see the band members walk away for Lu to do “Lake Charles” alone on acoustic. That might have tricked my mind into remembering it as part of the encore – if that makes sense. I don’t take notes but am familiar with all of her songs (except the new unrecorded ones, of course).

The drums might have been a little jarring at first, but I don’t have any complaints on the sound.

If Lu thinks she cheated the audience, she could always come back at the end of the tour and make it up to us. I wouldn’t mind.

“Lake Charles” is the song from Car Wheels that I think was part of the encore. Can anyone else confirm that it was part of the encore? I don’t want to post wrong information. She definitely did it, and it was towards the end. The writer of the review above says he had to leave while Lu was performing it so that reinforces that it was towards the end. I think she did two encores. “Honey Bee” might have been the first. I’m usually good at remembering the songs performed, but I do get them out of order. Off the top of my head, she also did “Righteously”, “Essence”, and the songs I mentioned in my first post in addition to the ones mentioned in the review. I’m in a hurry now and will post again if I think of more. Maybe someone else can verify, correct, or add to my posts.

    The encore:
    Blessed
A song from Car Wheels (I’ll think of it later)
It’s Not My Cross To Bear by the Allman Brothers
    Get Right With God

    Did I leave anything out?

I might have the order wrong. “Get Right With God” was definitely last.

Does anyone know the first song Buick 6 performed? It reminded me of a Ry Cooder song but I can’t think of the name of it. I’m not saying it is a Ry Cooder song. I don’t know

Thanks. I see that Little Red was released in 2009. I’ll probably get it even though I’m not that familiar with Susan Marshall. I like her live version of the song I’ve listened to on youtube. Lu is not on the performance I heard/watched.

It would be nice if all of the Kitchen Tapes and the other extras are available in one place instead of being scattered across several bonus discs.

I watched a few of the videos and saved all of them. I would have been happy to just have a few low quality clips as souvenirs of the show. These videos go way beyond what I normally expect to see. Courtners, I’ll buy you and your girlfriend/wife/friend/whoever a few beers if you bring your camera to the Richard Thompson/Loudon Wainwright show in October. Actually, that might not go over too well with Richard Thompson.

That orchestra pit is too cool.

I’ll be back in the pit for the Richard Thompson and Loudon Wainwright show in October. Maybe I’ll see some of you again then. I don’t know if there are any fans of Richard and Loudon here. If not, maybe when Lucinda comes back in a few years (hopefully).

    Luke,
I remember the guy clapping, but I don’t remember making that comment. Maybe you read my thoughts. We talked a little bit after the show. I remember you asking me if I am from that area. Your girlfriend (I think she has blond hair) asked me if I enjoyed it. Of course I said yes. I don’t know why I did not ask if you post here.

Yes, we were really close. Lucinda looked at me a few times. I think she was looking at my Mark Twain T-shirt.

I saw you too, Courtners. Thanks for posting those videos. I’ll watch them later when I have time.

I was in the pit right in the middle. I started off in seat 6 and ended up in 8 so three girls could sit together. I’m sure I saw the others posting here that were also in the pit. The couple to my left said they were from the area, and I don’t think they post here. I think the other forum members were to the left of that couple (I mean facing the stage left).

I don’t have much to add. I enjoyed the entire concert. I was really pleased that she did a few selections from the early “folk” albums.
