yeah, we saw Charlie back in 2015, they were pretty good and he did a nice Tangled up in Blue.
last weekend, I scored a couple tickets to his gig in Branson on Nov 3 at grandson’s football booster club silent auction…
BUT if he doesn’t STFU about the confederate statues, I ain’t going!
coffee4throadParticipantwill there be a deluxe version with a live set from back in the day? (a la the previous reissue?)
coffee4throadParticipanthi wildfire!
yeah, I forgot one, If You Could Read My Mind is another favorite. I bought that 45 back in the day… you don’t get him on the radio? where do you live?
we saw him do a show here some years back, enjoyed it.
the Jerry Lee Lewis album/cd I was referring to was “London Sessions” the vinyl is out there, just check some old record shops or amazon has the track for 99 cents.
coffee4throadParticipantwe drove up to see Chuck Prophet a while back there at knuckleheads . (yeah, a cool venue) we were running late and got stuck by a ‘damned old train’. if it wasn’t for my gps I wouldn’t have made it at all, still was tricky getting across that bunch of RR tracks..
coffee4throadParticipantsounds interesting,
who all plays on the new version?
coffee4throadParticipantlookin’ good tony!
haven’t been here in a while, looks a lot different.
gonna look around and catch up on the sweet old world anniversary info.
see ya!
coffee4throadParticipantHe has written a lot of great songs, I enjoy some when they come up on the radio, eg sundown, carefree highway, wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald.
I have an oddball favorite though. It’s ‘early morning rain’ done by jerry lee lewis on his Live in London recordings from the early 70s. check it out, the whole album is killer! (slight pun intended)
coffee4throadParticipantBlaze Foley’s 113th wet dream
Gurf Morlixcoffee4throadParticipantwow, best buy has sure gone down the tubes.
went over there this morning to pick up the remaster w/ the live show bonus cd and they had nothing at all by Lucinda in the whole doggone store!
ridiculous!coffee4throadParticipantsome gigs coming up for Adam Carroll.
if youre nearby, check him out, I do believe you will be glad you did!he’s from Tyler Texas and writes some great songs. he is also a good guitar player.

Admission: CANNED FOOD for Hays County Food Bankcoffee4throadParticipant>Sorry I didn’t run into you last night. Where were you at coffee4throad?
hi parker,
I was looking for you two too. I was near the merch table for the KBB and near midstage (slightly to the right, 3 or 4 heads back) for Lucinda’s show. sorry I missed you guys, after the show started I didn’t move, or id lose my place behind the wildly dancing little blonde…had a nice week, we saw Steely Dan at the Brady on Wed night, too.
http://www.tulsaworld.com/blogs/post.aspx/REVIEW_Steely_Dans_jazzy_rock_lights_up_the_Brady_Theater/22108hope to see you at another gig sometime!
coffee4throadParticipanttonyg: thanks for clarification of guitarist, I didn’t miss Doug too much, but would like my friend Dan and his wife to see him in action some day.
the cd? no, I didn’t get it signed. I asked the soundman and another guy who was going back and forth to the merch table to ask her to sign it, but they said she wasn’t going to be doing any of that last night. I wasn’t up to going around the block and try to head off the bus… too tired from yanking teeth all day, and too much of Dan’s maker’s mark…
anyway, it was a great night.
btw, i’d like to buy you a beer at a gig out there some time… wife’s from nearby your area.coffee4throadParticipantit was a great show last night. the setlist was about as good as it gets. David and Butch played great, and the new guitar slinger (Steve ?), whom Lucinda said used to be with the Wallflowers, was very good. Lucinda played and sang excellently. the crowd was really into it, too. don’t miss this tour if you get a chance to catch it!
coffee4throadParticipanthi stoger and all,
I will probably put in my $0.02 sometime after the show. I am working downtown and went by Cain’s at lunchtime. there’s a barbecue place next door called Oklahoma Joe’s and they have some pretty good barbecue, so if anybody’s in a hurry and not sure, that’s a good place to get some pre show chow.
i’m excited, got my ticket and I think I will bring my LW cd and see if I can get it signed.
should I hang out by the merch table or try to trip her on the way to the bus?
some sagely advice, if you please.coffee4throadParticipantgreatly looking forward to the show!!!
It will be really nice to hear the self titled album done live, too… a real treat!!
who’s in the band? -
