This is Great! I wish I was in Australia, too. I am beyond thrilled that Doug is back. I hope to get to see Lu at least once this summer.

Athens was Great! I had a blast meeting Tn Tracy and his lovely wife, as well as Stoger, up on the rooftop of the Georgia Theatre.

I agree, that this was a great venue for live music. Athens has an enthusiastic crowd for live music. A definite party crowd. Because of the lack of seating, the floor is a standing only, and makes for a rowdier audience. I met some nice true fans, from Athens, standing on the center left of Lu. About midway thru, a group of very drunk college girls appeared behind us and screamed incessantly . I am not kidding, my right ear is still ringing. Earplugs, next time. But, I enjoy a standing concert, It is hard to sit still when Lu and Band are Cooking. Which they were.

Blake was great, loved Butch, great percussion sound. I thought Lucinda’s voice was strong, and the band sounded great. “Seeing Black” was cool.

TnTracy is right on about the venue details.

Not a bad drive from Atlanta, and I would go there again for a concert.

Is it General Admission, Standing? Or are there seats at the GA Theatre?

I just tried to purchase a ticket to the Athens Show and it does not show sold out, but the site says ticket sales ended on September 1. I called the theater but the girl that answered said to call back later, because a show is going on, and she did not know the answer.

Any idea what is going on?

    Thanks
I would be driving from Atlanta, same as I did for the Macon show.

I love, love, love Van. My favorite male artist. My goal is to have everything he ever recorded, and I am not close.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take one artist’s music, at least Van has many incarnations. Some of Van’s Music is my Sunday Church Music.

    Today listening to “Healing Game”.

    Love Vic.

I love “Supernatural”. Have you heard “Cowboy Junkies” version?

    built a king on compliments
    charisma and advertisements
still they see him shimmer ephemeral
    it ain’t supernatural
    or maybe

    out of body experience
I flew around the little room once
    on intravenous Demerol
    it weren’t supernatural

    sudden smell..certain view
sparks a whoppin’ case of the dejavu
    is it inexplicable
    it ain’t supernatural
    or maybe

    Woo Hoo!

I loved the Macon concert and was hoping she would come to Atlanta. I hope Athens is a go. My birthday is that week. Might even have a place to spend the night so I can have a cocktail, or two, or three…

I was in the last group that did not get to meet Lucinda after the concert, Lucinda was beat after that long tour. So maybe I will get my chance in Athens. We did talk to David Sutton after the show, and he is a sweetheart.

By the way, thanks to Kristin at the Cox Capital for the autographed Poster of Lucinda. It was nice of her to find us before we left the theater and give several of us posters.

I love TJW and would love to see him.

I also love Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, and the many different bands and personals the individual members have been in. These guys are so cool. I love Tom Wilson as Lee Harvey Osmond. I love the songs of William P. Bennett .

I would love to see Lucinda and BRK do a small venue show..one that has a dance area.

I just want Lucinda to keep doing Lucinda songs, and whatever makes her happy.

A little pricey, but maybe such a small venue will be beyond cool. I saw her at the Tabernacle in Atlanta several years ago and it was great.

I think I am going to try to go to the Macon concert, but I can’t find anyone else to commit…I guess I will just get in the dang car and go by myself! It will be an adventure …
