This is so cool! So glad that the tough decision to remix allowed Bob Clearmountain to work his magic once again.
“In the end the record is the most important thing…”
Thank you for that!BobGParticipant@SamishSeaMike wrote:
Gotta wonder why Lucinda isn’t playing on Sunday as well as Saturday…
I suppose I should be grateful (and I AM) for this late summer/early fall west coast extravaganza, but as most are playing both days…
Should be a couple of great shows!!
Likewise, I can’t imagine why Lucinda didn’t play Hardly Strictly Bluegrass this past weekend in SF. She and her music is a natural for this event that hosts so many other great singer/songwriters. So, by way of this msg, I’m planting the seed… Lucinda at HSB 2010!
I’m still holding out slim hope that she will play Sunday at Bridge School but my understanding is that the line up is fixed well in advanced.BobGParticipant@paul_from_losangeles wrote:

The Bridge School benefit opens at 5 PM, and probably continues very late–I’ve never attended this event, but I believe the Shoreline Amphitheatre has a curfew at 11 PM.
JP & Chessie’s opening act, Amy Correia, begins at 9 PM, at Bimbo’s 365, in San Francisco, about 40 miles away.
Theoretically, you could see some of both shows, but you would be missing significant music at Shoreline to get to Bimbo’s by 9.
Perhaps, you might choose to fully attend the Bridge Benefit, and then travel to Los Angeles for JP & Chessie on Monday night, the 25th.
Figure on at least 90 minutes (optimistic) for the drive and parking. Traffic shouldn’t be too bad but, Bimbo’s, the JP, Chrissie venue, is on the far north side of SF – no way to avoid weaving through the city to get there. There are parking garages 1 and 2 blocks away on Jones St.
I’m hoping (and suggesting/requesting/pleading) that Lu will consider asking if she can join in the Sunday BSB as well. A great line-up would be a heck of a lot better still if that happened!
BTW – cheers to everyone in Fayetteville tonight and tomorrow. I know I’ll feel the vibe all the way out here in NoCal. 🙂

A very energetic and exciting show. A very beautiful, large theater, with the most enthusiastic audience of the shows I’ve seen this tour.
Speaking on behalf of the town in which I spent my childhood and half of my life, I was very gratified at the audience response to both bands. Before domestic wine became tres chic, Napa was a small, working class town supported by a steel mill and naval shipyard. That “common working person” spirit must still be alive because it was in full force at the Uptown in an audience that was obviously very familiar with Lucinda’s words and music not to mention being very receptive to the heart-breakingly beautiful experience written and sung about by JP, Chrissie and Patrick. Hope they all feel the same about Napa and remember to come back again someday!
BobGParticipantFor this long time Lucinda / Chrissie fan, the past couple of weeks have been some kinda heaven and last night at the Uptown Theatre in Napa (my hometown) went to the next level (didn’t even know there was one). It just keeps getting better… both bands rocked last night – strong voices (Lu/JP/Chrissie), some blistering guitar (Val and Patrick) and one of the best rhythm sections around! and I agree with Paul’s great review that the audience was VERY into all of it – GREAT energy from the stage and the crowd throughout the evening.
Looking forward to Sandy’s review as well!BobGParticipant@TOverby wrote:
Bob–Have you called TM –I believe they are supposed to honor the reduction. Let me know if that is not the case.
TM has no info on refunds for this show and referred me to the Ventura Theater. My credit card bill shows a TM refund of $4.00 so, the difference between what I paid and the revised cost is only $6.65. No big deal, especially in light of how cool the show was, so I won’t be pursuing this any further.
Just looking forward to Sac and Napa! 😀Thanks again for fighting the good fight. All your efforts are much appreciated!
Best,
BobBobGParticipantThanks much for posting the photo of Chrissie’s thank you note to Lucinda as well as the “backstory” on how JP, Chrissie opening the Ventura/Sac/Napa shows came to be. To be able to see/hear both of these woman in one night was incredible. If only they had performed together…

Chrissie-75 minutes-said Lucinda was “one of my musical heroes.” JP Jones (no Led Zep) was in tow, patrick ? a nice third. They stayed seated, and C occasionally played only tambourine or harmonica, causing her to say “I know now how Stevie Nicks feels” and “I may as well be serving tables out there.” But truly she played lots of guitar and took lead vocals maybe 40%. Yes, the dinner tables were “out there,” but Paul, Tony, I and others skirted them nicely. Good to see WEbmasta in attendance, to chat with Doug and Doug’s son after (Tim, they’re looking good). No Susannah at merch, no merch even until halfway thru evening. The journalistic heart of the weekly independent paper on this show: Chrissie and Lu “even share a hairstyle.” Oh well. Till Saratoga…
Patrick Murdoch on a beautiful electric Gretsch; pulled off some blazingly hot riffs on several songs. They will be doing a full band nationwide tour of about 35+ dates starting in mid-Sept.

I will find out the details on getting refunded the difference asap. This all just happened within the last hour.
Any info on how to obtain a refund from TM?
$74.90 – $64.25 = $10.65… a 14% reduction and every little bit helps!
Thx for you efforts!BobGParticipant@West Words wrote:
It took 3 hours of effort to get these tickets, but it paid off with front row seats. 😀
Ay caramba! It is a lot of work being a devotee!Everyone, go get your tickets – ➡
This was definitely an experience and a “war story” to remember. Dates and times changing right before our eyes.
And yes, TM was up to its usual: $57.00+5.00+7.25+3.00=72.25
Not that I’m complaining. Front row, Lucinda, Chrissie… nope, I’m not complaining.BobGParticipant@tntracy wrote:
Has anyone heard any on-sale information for the RMS Queen Mary show in Long Beach?
Also, has any one else ever been to a concert there? Is it reserved seating or GA?
The show is not yet listed on their event calendar, and I’m getting a little antsy. My main concern is the tickets suddenly go on sale a la the Sacramento show, they are reserved seating, and I miss a chance to get the best possible seats… 😕
Tom
Just found this. Looks like tix go on sale this Friday. Have fun everyone!

The QM sounds like fun, but after Ventura, Sac and Napa I’m going to need a rest.

Thanks so much for this!… got great seats.
Any word on a Napa presale password or when tix go on sale? The suspense is killing me. lol
Best, Bob
BobGParticipantWas going to make hotel reservations this morning, so I appreciate that you posted this.
Disappointing, but I think I understand the reasons behind the situation and fully support this decision.
Napa and Sacramento will have to suffice this time around!BobGParticipant@tntracy wrote:

Did she perhaps mean that’s when the show tickets go on sale?
Tom
Yes, tickets for the Sacramento show go on sale next Friday, 7/16
I just wanted to clarify that it’s Friday, not Saturday… God, I’m so anal. 😆BobGParticipant@West Words wrote:
