Normally I would be one of her biggest cheerleaders- BUT…
I’ve seen the meltdowns before, normally she would recover and the show would get really great after that- but last night it seemed the show was simply cut short. After LWTTT the band was standing around looking at each other…I don’t think they expected it to end that fast. I couldn’t see what happened to trigger it.

Previous to that the show was really good, Jambalaya I’ve never seen live before. Where I was standing the sound wasn’t that great, I attributed it to being way to the side/people in front of me/the glass barriers. Normally I would move to other spots to get better sound…

I’m also writing with the hopes that the dork in the Dylan t-shirt and the drunk bimbo he randomly hooked up with will read this. You know who you are. DUDE, YOU’RE RUDE! and it has nothing to do with rock & roll.

that is why in the small venues I like to sit/stand in back; less distractions to the music.

I feel badly that your night had to have these distractions…

Maybe it’s just me, but It also gets a little annoying when people yell out requests- I’d rather just let the show flow naturally…

“What is it about the simple, earlier songs that people are drawn to?” she asked rhetorically.

It’s like the line “My brother knows where the best bars are” from “Crescent City” – a simple lyric that everyone seems drawn to (I know I am), shouting it out in unison when Lu sings it… 😉

Yes, thanks for the link, Lafayette…

I think it has more to do with the rythym of the songs (can’t explain I’m not a musician…but I know what I like) leading to those lines-

another line I love is from Circles and X’s-
“You head down the drive and hope the Chevy decides to start”

Circles anx X’s first time I heard it live—one of my favorites.
sorry I missed everybody, traffic was a little bad…
really good show- I brought my GF who is not really a fan, but even she enjoyed it!

‘Come to me Baby’ was another I never heard before, I hope it makes it to the ‘covers’ CD.

I loved the rant at Lowell last year…though I was cringing, it just shows she’s human.

Then for those interested: what did she wear?
A pair of jeans, cowboy boots (snake print?), a black T-shirt with a golden T-Rex print, large buckle belt. Her hair was different, brown tossled hair with many highlights.

Good interview; my favorite quote is-

” I’ve already got a lot of stuff started… I want to get these songs finished and get back into the studio”
Yahooo- can’t wait for next CD. I only hope she’ll tour the Northeast before getting back into the studio.

from a regular poster who has taken issue with the ‘stepped back approach’-
(yeah I’ll bite for the Troll)

the danger of having an ex-rocker (like ES) on lead guitar is the lack of connection in terms organic Americana…..

Have you ever even seen the band with ES playing?

an “honest review”- come on this review was crap, he only wrote one sentence about the music
He was obsessed with the cup she was drinking from… WTF was that all about ?
    The “obligatory standing ovation”?
I’ve seen the guitar changes, and It did not remind me of a “hamburger eating contest”
Is there even such an event?
    what a tool.
