P.S. The Wiltern Theater is in Los Angeles.
But, of course. All the cool shows are in SoCal… 😛
😆
Tom
naw- I caught the N.R.P.S in Northampton, MA last night…now that was a cool show. And cheap only $22.50.
David Nelson is hands down my favorite guitarist of all time.

Wow…. I was front-row centre at the same show, and couldn’t disagree with you more.
It was the first time I’d seen her “live” too — travelled 7 hours to get there— and her show was worth every second of the drive.
Lucinda performed wonderfully, was ultra-cool and stopped the song because she thought the sound was muddy, she explained the interruption, by the way.
I can’t understand why you criticize her for deferring to the fabulous lead guitarist… that makes no sense to me whatsoever. and as far as her not facing the audience at the end of songs… what?? geesh……have you never seen a performer show this sign of appreciation to his/her band before?
And please don’t suggest that she not perform “live”…… it’s upsetting to us real fans.
The only constructive criticism I can offer you is to stop calling yourself a fan, until you “get it.”Hey Sandy – Just expressing my opinion. Apparently because it’s contrary to yours it’s not legit. I’ve been going to shows for 30+ years and have seen many of the top acts (Springsteen 25+ times; Petty; The Who; Steve Earle; Emmy Lou; Pearl Jam; Hiatt….among many others….) Again, my post was mainly a response to a feeling of surprise to what I was witnessing on stage. As mentioned in my original post, I enjoyed the show…but it was not to the high level that I expected. Try a Google search for reviews of her live shows. While many are positive, it’s easy to find a number of media reviews that are frankly considerably more harsh (in regards to the points that I raised) than I was in my assessment. Regards

i, too, am no novice to live shows….. been to hundreds, including the folks you mentioned…… you certainly are entitled to your opinion but i find most arm-chair critics like yourself to be mean-spirited, despite your insistence that you are not…
Lucinda her her own style and I respect it… I didn’t pay to have her prattling on or “connecting” with the audience….in my opinion, she and her band gave a wonderful show….and i do know music….Wow…reading comprehension anyone…. 😛
yeah well I’ve seen the Grateful Dead 100 times, and been going to see other live show for 35 years…so there!
I AM THE ONLY TRUE FAN HERE AND KNOW WAY MORE ABOUT MUSIC THAN ANYONE ELSEI hate when people start personally attacking the posters. Comment on their observations, but stop with all the silly sh*t.

I was listening to “Hot Blood” last night—true story—thinking I would love to hear this live. I never knew about the older Lu fretting about the younger Lu’s range. :
Mebbe the high notes were not hit- but I’ve never heard anyone sing ‘tire…iron’ and make it sound really sultry. Every time I hear that it brings a smile to my face.
bobParticipantI thought it was a really good show. Driving there I warned my GF there might be a lot of new material- which usually takes a while to like. But the first 5 songs were older stuff, I love ‘Just wanted to see you so bad ‘ as an opener, and it just got better.
If I could’ve sent a request in before the show it would have been for Hot Blood- never seen it live and it really made the show.
As for the band, they were good, Val did an interesting Righteously?? with an off beat that worked well.
after Hot Blood we were wondering what would be played next- but it seemed there weren’t many ‘favorite’ songs that we didn’t hear. The set list worked really well!Anyway we both had a great time- Thanks for a great show!
bobParticipantHey that sounds like a great set list. Really glad to see some older stuff in there!

I BTW…Lu looked amazing. She was dressed in a black/white/blue checked shirt, leather jacket, jeans, studded belt, black boots. .
now that’s what I’m talking about!
bobParticipantI’ve been hearing Gurf Morlix singing ‘Baby can I crawl back to you’ on OUTLAAAW COUNTRY Sirius 63. Good to see him getting airplay!
bobParticipantAmazon has it dialed in pretty well- I preordered West and Lil’ Honey and believed they were at my door the day of release…or possibly the next.
bobParticipantWho’s going to this show?
BoB will be there….bobParticipant@vmorris wrote:
love the line “my brother knows where the best bars are!
I really love that line too… I can’t explain why but it just really works.
bobParticipantBob will be at the NYC shows…yay
Only 2.5 hour drive. (not counting traffic)bobParticipantRolling Stone became irrelevant quite a while ago…a rag for all the cool kids.

• Fan Club pre ticket sales opportunities.
• Meet and Greets
• Would love to be able to download live shows or unreleased studio tracks. At Todd Snider shows you can purchase a download code for 7 bucks and then download the complete show from the website when it is available. I think this is a steal.
the pre-ticket sales I like to avoid the ticketBastard fees.
The live show download- at most of the ‘jam band’ type events I go to, you can usually buy the night’s performance on a CD 15 minutes after the show.

good.
OK, now for the obligatory fashion report. Lu was wearing a low-cut, lacy black blouse, a pair of faded jeans & her “Old Gringo” brand brown boots with the riveted crosses on the uppers. She was also sporting some beautiful silver jewelery around her neck. She seemed in great spirits, as was the band who appeared to be having a good time.
Tom
Now that’s what I’m talking about!
bobParticipantWhat about the fashion report?
What did she wear?
