blureuParticipantJust rcvd this info from the Tabernacle folks:
We’d like to take a moment to clear up all confusion regarding the purchase and availability of tickets for our show with Lucinda Williams at the Tabernacle. Earlier this year, The Tabernacle stopped using Ticketmaster as a vendor and began using Live Nation Ticketing exclusively. Unfortunately this show was caught in the middle as tickets for this show had already gone onsale with Ticketmaster. As a result, the Ticketmaster page that once sold these tickets now simply states that there are no more tickets available. This is misleading and there are, of course, plenty of great seats left!
blureuParticipantInteresting comment from Lucinda in the interview:
“I would like to do another covers album,” Williams explains, thinking back on her first album. And indeed she has continued to include covers in her live shows and on her albums (Little Honey features an incongruous take on AC/DC’s It’s a Long Way to the Top). “We’ve got something lined up actually, a project of covers, it’s in the pipeline…let me just say that.”
blureuParticipantI thought she did an ACL taping in 1992 for SOW?
blureuParticipantLittle Honey is only $5 through Monday on Amazon:

blureuParticipantOne other note – Lucinda added vocals to “Mask Of Moses” on Carrie’s new album.
blureuParticipantoh boy….
blureuParticipantI hope someone is able to save and share the audio from tonight for us to enjoy over & over! 🙂
blureuParticipantSweet!
Someone please record the stream 🙂
blureuParticipantCan you give us a breakdown of the bonus tracks and where they can be purchased?
Thus far I’m aware of the free “Bone of Contention” track when you pre-order from Amazon.
Thanks!

blureuParticipantJust rcvd this info from the Orange Peel:
Hello Peelers,
Have you heard our exciting news yet?Lucinda Williams
plus Buick 6
Thursday, September 25th
7pm doors / 8pm showWe can hardly wait for this Thursday, September 25, when one of our favorite singer-songwriters, Lucinda Williams, heads into town to play the Orange Peel for the first time.
The show has been moved from Thomas Wolfe Auditorium to the Peel, and tickets are still available!
You can get yours online, or at the Orange Peel box office this week. If you already purchased tickets for the show at Thomas Wolfe, we will honor those Ticketmaster tickets here at the Peel on Thursday evening- just bring them with you to the doors.
Many have asked us about how the evening will be structured; here is some information that covers the majority of the inquiries we’ve received. We will not have reserved seating – the show will be standing room only with limited seating available around the perimeter of the room available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Ticketmaster is offering refunds to those who purchased tickets to Thomas Wolfe should they so choose – they are available only at the Thomas Wolfe box office or at www.ticketmaster.com.
blureuParticipantwow, that’s a major downgrade from the Thomas Wolfe to the OP. Lucinda has played the Thomas Wolfe numerous times. I think the last time (march 2007) it was nearly sold-out. The show has been getting promotion on local radio (wncw) though I haven’t heard much of Real Love. I guess it’s a hard sell since the show is coming before the record. Tickets were too $ imo too.
I think there’s good & bad about the move. The OP is a great venue and the opportunity to see her in such a small venue is quite exciting. The bad is that it will probably be too crowded and that can easily ruin a show. I’ve been to shows at the OP where it has been sold-out and it can be quite uncomfortable. Unless you stand in the back but who wants to stand in the back?!?
Plus, those who are coming from out of town (possibly me) will get stuck in the back because it’s hard to get there two hours before showtime to lineup and it’s standing room only.
ok, I’m rambling. Hopefully some will concur with my thoughts.
