OKC ….was outstanding, sorry I couldn’t post sooner ,tried right after the show but the site was down, and I’ve been away from a computer since…long work related story…oh well. Nice job Parkerca thanks for your take, sorry I didn’t get to meet up with you there.Enjoyed both shows and the song selection was great both nights, took my 8 year old grandson to the second show and he loved it,Lu your next generation fan base is being established lol. He couldn’t quite go the distance though and we left just before “killin room floor” was over,he had a great time as did I . Thanks for the shows in OKC much appreciated. Will catch up with you again in NOLA at the HOB, when I get to check out the band version ,looking forward again….

Ok people,I know I might tend to be seemingly easily impressed but I really think I just witnessed a performance of some considerable stature !!!! I have seen Lu play live many, many times and even acoustically solo, but the room and Lu tonight where as good as I’ve ever heard…. amazing, intimate and tonally first class !
I’m going to annoy some by not being able to recite the set list sorry no pen and paper and might have forgotten anyway, some highlights along the most memorable way where,
    Are You Allright
    Well,Well,Well
    Everything Has Changed
    Side of the Road
    Concrete and Barbed Wire
    Don’t Know How Your Living
    Blessed
    Born to be Loved
    Ugly Truth
Someone Somewhere Don’t Know What He’s Missing
    I Lost It
    Jackson
    Lake Charles
A Couple of old Blues tunes the titles of which escape me, but where executed brilliantly !!Excellent guitar work, nailed the licks.
There where others of course ,Get Right With God, being another which was outstsanding,I’d like a recording of tonights concert I believe it might be an “All Timer”

OK let me back up a bit, arrived about 7ish after picking up my daughter who now lives just south of OKC checked in with our gatekeeper/doorman duly found us on the list (Thanks TOM 😀 ) assesed the venue (most seats allready taken) which is VERY intimate, and went down the road to eat some dinner and get refreshments as the Blue Door is BYOB,after a suprisingly good Thai dinner and refreshment run we headed back to the venue.
Just in time for the opening act to be finishing up,My daughter said he was very good and bought a CD I’m afraid I missed most of it due to running into some old friends.
Anyway Lu came out and began her set and all 90-120 of us in attendance (thats all it holds !!!) where “spoilt rotten” as my dear old mum would say .It is a tiny venue with beautiful accoustics,we stood beside the mixing desk at the back of the room (maybe 20ft from Lu ) awesome sound, Lu did ask for her guitar to be turned down a couple of times, but out front it sounded fine,my daughter allowed this was thee best concert /performance she’d ever seen even surpassing the first concert I ever took her to and that was The Rolling Stones…..so Lu I think you did pretty good tonight, I loved it too……awesome see you again tomorrow. Wow little lady you sure set the bar high tonight……….thankyou.

Don’t know if any of the regular forum posters where on hand……..love to hear there take.

    1.”Something about what Happens” …… phew…….
    2.Essence
    3. Right in Time
    4. Words Fell
5.Angel,live at the HOB in Dallas was awe inspiring.

But the total composition of “Something about what happens” allways blows me away, other faves come and go but that one gives me chills everytime.

Hey ParkerCA,Great chatting with you also, nice to put some faces with some of the people on this Forum.Yeah Mr Clean the security guard was quite the jerk, the other security guys where pretty cool throughout the show .Actually saw him leaving as we where leaving,I know you and Stoger where still visiting,so maybe someone told him it was time for HIM to go home.
My drive back to Medicine Park was smooth sailing, both my passengers hit the wall and napped out on me 😀 ,but I think I was on the same Lu high as you.Hope you got your albums signed.

Thanks Stoger for all your reports from this tour,I’m the fan you met in Dallas and at The DB briefly.
We managed to kind of book end this tour, and wish we could have caught more dates…….oh well.
As for the show itself, loved it.Having seen quite a few shows over the years,in many different venues I was impressed yet again,as was my 6 year old grandson Korbin who made me promise to take him to see “Lucindy”,it was his first ever concert and he had a great time,we positioned ourselves off to Chets side of the stage where we had a great, different view of the show.He managed with the aid of security to give Lu a rose during the show and the visit with her after the show was,(to use a much quoted phrase) “priceless”,thanks to Lu ,Tom and all involved for making one of your youngest fans night.Mine was pretty darned good too.
Ok backtracking a bit,This was by far the shortest trip we’ve taken for a Lucinda show just 70 miles so thanks for that, now about the Diamond Ballroom ???? it is like a 4H barn on first appearences succinctly put by bassist Dave, but actually was not bad for a live show,a very shall we say “raw roadhouse” kind of a place !! But it is certainly in the middle of nowhere, sorry for the lack of amenities Stoger.Thankfully didn’t see any of the reported “loose women” having issues !!
Enjoyed Buick 6’s stylings allthough they seemed a bit shorter than usuall ? Lu played a hell of a show after a bit of a sore throat/ricketty opener, the band was spot on and even with the set changing huddles played almost flawlessly.Butch and Dave where a powerhouse,Chet’s many talents seem to continue to evolve since we first saw/met him at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas a couple of years back.Eric seems to be fitting in well, and of course Lu led us all along for a great evening, loved the end of the tour improv setlist abandonment.Highlights for me, “Wishes” “Are you allright” and “Jackson” don’t recall “Car Wheels” though ? might have been during one of those 6 year olds bathroom breaks but don’t remeber it…hmmm? I think the band was definately on an end of tour high, everyone seemed genuinely upbeat and having a good time.We had a great night and will be looking forward to seeing more shows upon your return.
So in closing thanks for another great tour, and best of luck over there in Europe, wish I could get back to England and catch the Cambridge FF show, that being my old neck of the woods, might be a good time to visit family. 😀 By the way Lu your sighned concert poster is in prime position in a certain 6 year olds room and he says to tell you he’s still “secure” thanks again.

Just got back from the 1,500 mile round trip to Nashville, just a few comments as it where, pretty satisfying show in general, would have been much better with no seats on the floor though,Listened to the new album several times during the trip…….. anyway my beef kinda, is Elvis can’t do justice to “Jailhouse” ,seen Doug do it 4-5 times now,he does a way better job,Elvis doesn’t have any feel to him almost sounds like a de-tuned, mono-toned,nerd . Hey just my opinion 😀 . Got to talk with Doug and the guys after the show, and the wife and I both related to Doug our feelings, hey what could he say ? the shrug said it all, couldn’t hang around to meet Lu she was a bit busier ,and it was getting cold ,oh well another time maybe.

I’m with Stu….. about “Jailhouse Tears” but I haven’t heard the Elvis Jailhose version yet,so I’ll respectfully wait for a listen,I like him, just not seeing the fit here.(Neil Young ? hmmmm) But hey, what do I know ??? Come see us Okie’s Lu.we love ya.
