I can only echo the responses before me….last night’s show was a brilliant one! Lu was in great spirits the whole night, and was really on top of her game! Buick 6’s opening set was cool, and they really did put it into overdrive backing Lucinda!!
The set list was an awesome one, and i was lucky enough to get the guy at the soundboard to give me his copy once the show ended…AND lucky enough to have both Doug & Chet sign it when i just happened to run into them after the show!!!
Here it is, Doug’s name on the left, Chet’s to the right:

    thanks for the info Clive.
the songs you list are the ones i’ve heard. they’re good enough they’ve made me curious about the rest.
Doug did reply to an original message i sent him some months back about not knowing his site had the problem, and that he’d look into getting it fixed.
as it still isn’t, i mailed him again this week. he’s such a nice guy, maybe he can come up with a plan B if his computer guy is still out to lunch.
    wish me luck 🙂

thanks for the heads up on the CD, brian. i’ll remember that at the next show i attend. i’ve never heard the whole CD through, only the tracks with Lu, and one or two others…how’s is it? with Doug’s playing excellence, i imagine it’s all great.
    thanks again 🙂

i was at that New York show in ’05 as well, tonyg. their duet was killer. it stands out to me till this day. what a great choice for the recorded version. Lu & Elvis have a great chemistry.

i’d say that’s him in the garnett pic for sure, but i don’t see him in the other. those are some sweet seats at an nba finals game…way to go, doug!

thanks for the input, parker. yeah, i noticed doug’s site was down today…hence my desperate post today. lol
a few times i checked last week there though, when the site was up, the CD link looked disabled.
i will ask again at doug’s myspace page. wish me luck 🙂

    thanks again.

Must be some psychics around here–Lucinda got up during Tim Easton’s set at SXSW and sang Meet Me In The Morning–maybe it could happen again?

LU was at SXSW?!!!!! if i had only known 🙁
the whole festival was great, but seeing her perform there would have made it perfect.
i did get to meet Alejandro Escoveda, but LU would have blown my mind!

that’s a great link, with an incredible set of guitars…and some BIG name satisfied customers.
i’ll own one of those someday…someday.

    thanks for posting it!

i too was at last night’s show, and have to agree lucinda’s vibe was a bit awkward at times. it’s a shame she can still get so freaked out by reading one bad review, and in the tiny ‘time out’ magazine, to boot.
i thought the first CWGR set was great, and two or three songs were brilliant! hearing ‘jackson’, probably my favotite lu song, for the first time live was a great treat.
set 2 was certainly more hit or miss, and although i didn’t mind any of the guest, i wish they had accompanied lucinda, not done solo numbers. i came to see LU. the notable exception was steve earle, who’s ‘ellis unit one’ sent shivers down my spine. also, his close association with CWGR made his time on stage understandable. he & lucinda clearly have a long, strong bond.
i’ve just finished listening to the cd that was available of the first set, and all of the weird vibes seem to disappear. all i hear is a brilliant(unedited) redition of a classic album.

that’s super news! my tix are for the oct. 2 town hall show in nyc. town hall is nearly as nice acoustically as radio city, where lu played in spring. the sound should be incredible…a live cd is such a bonus!

i must admit i’m not familiar with that tune either. i’m sure Lu’s version will be excellent, and lead me back to check out the original.
