Probably about as much chance as an adelaide show mate. Real disappointed SA is being missed yet again when artists like feist, neko case etc can manage it. There are plenty of venues.

Great news indeed. I thought it was fantastic to read the comment from TO: “I’ve never seen her so excited”.

For someone who brings so much joy to others to be genuinely excited about their work is a wonderful thing.

I’m eagerly awaiting my next Lu fix.
    😀

PS And it is also great to see everyone sending their support and best wishes. What a great group of fans there are here.

My car is an MGF roadster so I can’t even fit a CD changer! 😉

However, it has a little box where I stash my CDs. Currently:

    1) Tegan and Sara – So Jealous (getting the new CD led me to revisit this old fave)
    2) Amy Winehouse – Frank
    3) Feist – The Reminder (mainly for 1234. If you have kids, or are as immature as me.. check out the youtube video of Feist doing this song on Sesame Street)
    4) Lily Allen – It’s not you it’s me
    5) Mazzy Star – She Hangs Brightly
    6) Lu – self titled.

heh heh, Tom, this is the sweet slang payback! 😛

“Got the chockies” is an expression that kinda means ‘did well’, ‘got rewarded’ or ‘won’. I’m not sure of the origin to be honest, it might be a play on the old Cadbury Roses chocolate boxes ads, you know ‘thanks for doing me a favour’.

I do remember a greyhound called ‘Got the chockies’ – it never won but I always got a cackle outta that name.

Interesting. These sound much yummier than Adelaide’s culinary claim to fame: the Pie Floater. Which is an upside down meat pie in a bowl of mushy pea soup with lashings of tomato sauce (ketchup) on top.

Truly dreadful and only consumed at the end of a BIG night out.

Many years ago friends of mine made it a mission to come up with the most disgusting variation and I reckon the Magnum floater (Magnum Ice Cream swimming in the peas…) got the chockies… 😆

hey tonyg, I read that and thought those lyrics would go well to the tune of ‘Disgusted’.

If you don’t believe me, hum it and see. 😀

Sorry guys, it has been a trying day at work…

Search the Lu in General forum for something like ‘CD set NYC or CA’

I got the LA set and when I get around to it I’ll also get the NYC set. So I can’t give you the ‘vs’ opinion but no complaints about the LA stuff. Either way get one of the complete sets as it works out cheaper..

On that note, can anyone tell me which particular Live LA CD and track has the story about the ‘who do I have **** to get a fan’ . It cracks me up but I can’t find the track now!

    Great work Tom!

Can I please get a who’s who left to right on the Friendly Forum Fans? It would be great to put a face to the names of you guys.

Thanks again for posting these pics as I don’t expect any coverage of this in Australia.

    cheers

Thanks to being made aware of this in another post, I read this online at Amazon some time ago.
I did get to what appears to be ‘the end’ of what you’re allowed to read, instead of using the arrows I changed (overtype it) the page number and with a bit of to’ing and fro’ing you can get through it all. (Inherent sneakiness of being a professional system tester 😉 )
Hope this helps as it was well worth it.

You’re right Lefty when you talk about an artist being ignored. In Australia the only reason I happened to find out Lucinda was touring was because of this website and it’s forums.
The only time that it was not in my home, car or Ipod that I once (yes once!) heard a LW song in public was ‘I Lost It’ some years ago in country Western Australia blasting away in a car stereo store. I never found out if that was the radio or the proprietor’s most excellent personal CD collection.. That must have been over 5 years ago but I’ll never forget it.
Now I don’t have Foxtel/cable so I don’t have a country music TV station but on free to air we never get a music video. The Australian Rolling Stone only gives the occasional ‘Random Note’ snipped from the US mag or else they sanctimoniously mention LW when talking about someone else. eg Kasey Chambers covered this LW song, the Waifs love LW.. Fair enough to reference if say you’re talking about Elvis, but jeez… It is like being part of some secret society! Without fail, everyone who asked who I was trekking halfway across the country for in April said “Who?” when I said who it was I was for.
To my forum mates you are so lucky to be firstly, aware of, and secondly this passionate about, this incredible artist. By all means keep arguing and keep posting – it’s the only source of info I have! 😀
