2- Angel
3- Long Way to the Top (I really miss this as a show closer)

5- Stop Breaking DownMay 31, 2011 at 5:56 pm #47405tonygKeymasterThe only 2 covers I would list are Marching the Hate Hachines and For What It’s Worth.
Edit. OK. I am adding What Are You Doing New Years Eve from the Viper Room show 12/31. Awesome.

Maybe Lu covered this song at a very young age 😆 .
This photo from Lu’s Facebook appears to be a class photo when she was living in Chile.
Lu is second from left in the back row sporting pigtails.lwj

good covers by Lucinda:
disgusted
can’t let go
positively 4th street
malted milk blues
make the world go away
(does she ever do any TVZ songs?)
listening to Lyle Lovett doing some on his Come On In This House cds… great stuff!June 1, 2011 at 6:46 pm #47412dariusjagParticipant“Galveston” with J Webb . Lucinda is brilliant,
June 2, 2011 at 6:04 am #47413GhostpixelParticipant1: Here in California
2: Bonnie Portmore
3: Angels laid him away
4: Which will
5: Hard Time Killin Floor BluesI didnt include Nothin’ by Townes, even though its really good, cause everything pales when you compare it to his death defying version from the “bonustracks” of the record Absolutely nothing.
Same for her version of satisfied mind. Her version is light, simple and wonderful, but i fell in love with the beautiful and pretentious (in a good way that is) way jeff buckley did it 🙂
Its often like that with covers. You always have one favorite artists way of doing each unique song.
June 2, 2011 at 12:43 pm #47414padchioParticipantMy favourite cover depends what I’m listening to at the moment. Factory Blues is great – reminds me of getting up in the dark to work in a factory, being bored out of my mind during the day, then going home when it was dark again. Happy times!
One track I do come back to is Bonnie Portmore. Love the phrasing on that one.
June 2, 2011 at 3:15 pm #47415punchdrunkloveParticipantalways forget that can’t let go is a cover. always.
glad someone got nick drake, kate wolf and mississippi john hurt on a list.
June 10, 2011 at 1:17 am #47416musicloverParticipantI’ve got to second lafayette. Ode To Billie Joe. lucinda does a killer version of that song. Hope she comes to Nashville later this year. Way too much CMA this week….
June 11, 2011 at 3:32 am #47417punchdrunkloveParticipantode to billie joe. you just have to help me listen to it.
it never crossed my path!
