I positive that I heard an interview with her on the World Cafe and she sang a Bruce Springsteen song I think it’s “Highway Patrol” it’s about two brothers etc… Does anyone know if it’s available on any of her albums? and if indeed she did sing it on The World Cafe…it’s driving me nuts.

RJF-Welcome to Lucinda’s friendly forum.
Bruce was a special guest at a Lucinda concert in London, England back in November/06, but this song “Highway Patrolman” was not done.
Can’t find if Lucinda ever covered this song on World Cafe or elsewhere but another great singer did so.

lwjHi Robert, I can’t speak to if / when Lu did this song on World Cafe, but I collect all guest appearances, duets & covers featuring Lu on “officially” released CDs, and do not have this song on my list I have compiled with my research. So, I don’t think it has been released; but, my has been shown to be incomplete before!

No she has never played that song, on World Cafe or otherwise. The only cover of that song that I’m aware of is Johnny Cash who did both that song and Johnny 99, also from Bruce’s Nebraska album, on one of his last records for Columbia Records. I’m sure others have done it on Bruce tribute records, but Lu never has.
