2 more songs cut last night -what I consider two of Lu’s lost gems, Memphis Pearl and Sidewalks Of The City. Hoping to get a couple more tonight.

And I just bet she hit those high notes on “Memphis Pearl” in fine fettle.

    Can’t wait!!

Not to be too greedy, but is this in addition to an album of new material that’s been rumored?! 😀

Lu and the fellers were shown on Facebook live last night around 8 pm west coast time. They were in the studio working on the song Sweet Old World. It was at times dull and at other times compelling. I didn’t catch the whole thing but I sat through 4 takes of the song. It was quite interesting to hear Lu’s critique of each take. She didn’t think she was on the same page as the band and was less than thrilled to be on Facebook Live, to put it mildly.

The comments of the viewers were unintentionally hilarious. You had to watch the whole thing sideways and not everyone saw the humor in that. Also, you could not see Lucinda because she was in an isolation booth at the opposite end of the studio from the phone camera holder. Nevertheless, it was a treat to hear Lu and the band at work.

Too bad Mr. Stoger didn’t see it. If they do it again I would urge everyone to check it out. 8)

P.S. Since no one asked or could possibly care I’ll give my 2 cents on the Lu vs. Band dynamic last night. I thought Lu’s first take was best; each take thereafter was slightly less great. The band was on a different schedule though; it took them a few takes to give their best take. Maybe things improved after I passed out drunk, perhaps other FF members will chime in with remarks.

What makes you think I’ve not joined the big FB and been lurking all the while, tony?

Actually, I’m with Lu when it comes to Facebook Live status 😡

Went to the dreaded FB and listened to the only two takes I could find there, but thought the last one sounded really good. Amazing how much more rich and nuanced her voice sounds vs original. I’m also with Lu re FB live broadcasting.. Love the occasional Periscope peeks into the concerts , and the studio footage when it’s completed, but it seemed the process was stressful.

With still being in denial about needing full time glasses, I couldn’t quite make out the players in studio.. Buick 6 + ??

Buick 6 Mike, plus Greg Leisz. Don’t blame your eyes; the camera was in the control room and the band was on the other side of the glass. Plus the band played sideways.

I hope Mr. S. approves of my increased use of semi-colons. It’s my new thing.

TO…. Forgive me if this was addressed elsewhere. Any chance of Amos Lee lending his voice to Little Angel, Little Brother? Looking forward to hearing the “new” SOW. Some of Lu’s finest work lyrically speaking imo.

No I don’t think so -the new version came out great though.

Thanks for the reply. Gave SOW a spin today….classic Lu. Super excited to hear all these great tunes 25 years down the road. Kudos, to whoever came up with the idea.
