Speaking of live DVD’s, has anyone heard any info on the footage that was shot last Sept/Oct in LA & NYC? I thought that by now something would have become available. Besides a few good DVD’s, I thought that maybe it could be a PBS special.
Right now the plan is to release the 20th Anniversary reissue of the Lucinda Williams (Rough Trade) album with a DVD of the El Rey night of that album being the second disc- in fact the editing of the dvd part is almost completed.
It most likely will be released Q1 of next year.
A much larger dvd with footage from all the nights is still being discussed-and it is very much hoped that it will happen.
If it doesn’t get released to the public, I would still pay to get my hands on material from the El Rey shows. If something was put together and deemed not worthy to release, I would still want it. It’s too bad that it’s taken so long. I think the more time passes some of the public will not be interested in it. Been there, done that kind of thing.
I used to have a VHS either from HBO or some other cable channel that was a concert called ” The Women Of Country Music” or something like that, and featured Roseanne Cash, MC Carpenter, Patty Loveless, Kathy Mattea and Lucinda… Lu looked kind of 80s if I remember correctly and did “Hot Blood” and maybe Passionate Kisses with MCC. Does anyone else remember this show, or has the THC finally caused irreparable brain damage?
I’ll have to do some research and post back here, but I’m pretty sure that Lucinda’s appearance on PBS Soundstage was at one point available on DVD. Its probably not on copy anymore but I’ll let you know what I fin out.
