ParticipantSo here’s the next one –Lucinda as been asked to appear on the Paul McCartney 70th Birthday Tribute album -what Paul McCartney song should Lucinda do? Some Beatles songs may be in play also, but not all of them. Will be interesting to see the responses on this one.

Participant“I’m Down”
I like the history of this song & could definitely see Lu pulling it off. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I’m_Down
* Paul wrote the lyrics, but is credited to Lennon/McCartney. Released as the B side of “Help.”
*Aerosmith covered this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZAmtYxfGxs According to setlistfm, with current data input, they are the last band to play this song on 10/23/01. http://www.setlist.fm/stats/songs/the-beatles-23d6a88b.html?song=I’m+Down [have I mentioned how much I like setlistfm? 🙂 ]
*Paul opened his set with “I’m Down” at The Concert For NYC after 9/11.

KeymasterThis is a tough one but I am going to go with “Why Don’t We Do It In The Road?”.

ParticipantI’d suggest Maybe I’m Amazed, the Faces did a great version on their Long Player album.
I’m sure Lucinda could do a great version of it as well in her own inimitable way.

ParticipantHere are my 5 choices. All from McCartney’s solo albums:
1. Somedays (From Flaming Pie)
2. Every Night (From McCartney)
3. My Love (Red Rose Speedway)
4. Maybe I’m Amazed (McCartney)
5. Let Me Roll It (Band On The Run)September 21, 2011 at 5:46 pm #48349coffee4throad

Although not strictly a PM solo song, one on which I would love to hear Lu’s take. I second!

ParticipantI was channel surfing, and came across Tina Turner live in Holland….never been a huge fan, but she nailed Help! As I listened to her slower tempo version(the integrity of the song remained intact), I thought Lucinda’s vocals would really shine with a similar approach.

HAHA
I would really like to see Lu pull something from Macca’s solo work. The Beatles songs have been done. There are a lot of great songs on the solo albums. (there are a lot of stinkers too though 😕 )
