I see that The Wallflowers have a new album coming soon and a (mini?) tour upcoming.
Wondering if Stuart will be touring with? I would assume so.
Looks like they are mainly touring the Northeast in August with one potential overlapping date (Aug 31).This quote from Jakob Dylan regarding the difference(s) between his solo ventures and those with the Wallflowers kinda bugged me. It would appear based on his reply that all the music is all him. With talent like Stuart Mathis in the band, seems rather egotistical.
From Rolling Stone:
“Do you view your solo records and Wallflowers material as coming from a different musical space?
The Wallflowers is me, and if I go under my own name, it’s me. It’s the same thing, ultimately. It’s really dictated on the songs I have and how I want to record them and would they sound better with a full-band sound. In many ways it’s the same person. It’s just what outfit do I want to put on.”http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/jakob-dylan-on-wallflowers-breakthrough-lp-it-wasnt-easy-20160512#ixzz49InSbk00

Losing Stuart (even short-term) from Lu’s crew would be like driving with One Headlight.
May 21, 2016 at 11:21 pm #55200tonygKeymasterI’m going to go the other way on this. I think Lu is off the road those dates so he can do both. 8)
May 22, 2016 at 8:54 am #55201tonygKeymasterTo answer the question no one is asking, Jakob Dylan did 2 songs at Stephen Stills’ Autism Benefit tonight at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood.
Stills opened with Girl From North Country, solo acoustic. Then Jakob Dylan came out and did Questions, a song by Stills, then did his big hit 10th Avenue Heartache something or other. Dylan was accompanied by the house band of Chris Stills and friends. No Wallflowers in sight. He did not stick around after the show so I did not get to pester him with inane questions.
Stills was the next to last performer and was with his band The Rides, featuring Kenny Wayne Shepherd, for some reason. Neil Young closed with 7 songs: Heart of Gold, Thrasher, and Out on the Weekend, all solo acoustic, Human Highway with Stephen Stills and Chris Stills, then Mr. Soul, For What it’s Worth, and Rockin in the Free World, all electric and at deafening volume. The final song was performed with about 275 people on the stage.
This was Stills 4th Autism Benefit and I must say, other than Young, this show was the least talent laden of the 4. The first one was the best and that was the one where Lu performed.
