anyone else into this great 2 cd set from 1991?
i only got this a couple of years ago, spinning it now. its a gem!
presently out of print, but there are some available used (e.g. at amazon, alibris, or other sources) from about $20.
lots of great tracks. some very mellow, with great musicicans, singers, and guest artists (e.g. the Chieftains , Georgie Fame, Candy Dulfer).
one of “the man’s” better efforts, imo.

    Tom,
nice to see youre a van fan! my favorite album of his i picked up in 72 (St Dom’s Preview) when i lived in Los Angeles from 72 to 76. they played alot of his stuff on KMET, which was a pretty progressive station back then.
i never saw him live, but 3 of my other favorites of his are the live ones, Too Late to Stop Now (73), Live from the Belfast Opera House (84?), and LIve in SF (94). Like alot of great artists (Lucinda included) i think VM’s songs evolve into their truest form when they get played live and tweaked around for a while vs on the studio albums.
    have a great 4th and 5th!

I love, love, love Van. My favorite male artist. My goal is to have everything he ever recorded, and I am not close.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take one artist’s music, at least Van has many incarnations. Some of Van’s Music is my Sunday Church Music.

    Today listening to “Healing Game”.
