So is Doug (& Eric) out of the band? I went to the show & must have a different perspective of Lucinda than others. I was immediately disappointed when the guy sitting next to me said “Doug will not be here-he is doing his own thing”- I thought a solo tour but he is not on tour.
I have seen Lucinda about 15 times, either at the LA clubs or as opening act for other artists. I know she changes band members all the time-but when Doug finally took over the musical direction of the band I knew then: this is the band that will take her to the top as a headline artist. Tell me this is not a new band w/o Doug!
I was really disappointed as she seemed stressed, not on cue with the band, and although the new guitar player is great-nothing compares to the shows they were doing for West & Lil Honey. I also understand this was first gig for new CD- but then again -is Doug in-or out?
Doug was the missing link so I hope he is not gone. Please update me someone.

Doug has been gone for a while. At least a year and a half. He was (is) pretty great. I would assume no Doug going forward, but he did make a guest appearance in Ventura, so you never know.
I’d say the Ventura show was not atypical for the first night of a tour.

Welcome to the forum sbBob,
Doug is definitely missed by many for is great contributions to Lucinda’s sound. Who knows what the future brings for Lucinda’s band. I’m sure depending on tours yet to be booked and people’s schedules, anything can happen! Even as this tour is proving… every show has it’s unique magic.
From special guests to this killer Jam, caught on video by a fan (and then edited to some of my own digital camera footage) the first night of this tour between Doug Pettibone & Val McCallum.

Enjoy!!August 25, 2010 at 1:10 am #44101sbbobParticipantOK- Guess I have to accept this change. It just seems like after seeing her so many times with the guys before Doug-she needed him & his band mates to make her a headliner (I have never seen or heard of her headline a major show). Maybe from the ticket prices & having a major opening act this is it. I just do not see her going back to the 4 piece band again. It just looks like she is going backwards.
I guess I was lucky to see the progression & the last 2 times I previously saw her live w/ Dough I just knew this was her breakthrough. I hope it will still happen. She is great-I guess I am just too much a perfectionist and super fan of hers to actually accept a disappointment at one of her shows.
Can anyone direct me to any live performances she did from previous 2 CD’s ?
I will be looking for her to return to southern Ca. at end of tour.
