At the Troubadour website, tickets are available today, Wednesday, Jan. 25, with a presale password, which I don’t know.
No description of this opaque event. Probably, various famous musicians, in town for the Grammy awards, performing a musical tribute to Lucinda.

Paul, there is no indication anywhere that tickets could be bought before Friday at 10 am so it is odd that the website lets you attempt it. When I asked about the password no one knew that there was one or what it was. So there’s that.

See you at the show. There is a full band performance scheduled. Yes the fact that the show is pre-Grammy does mean there will be celebs and such and a high demand for tickets. I will endeavor to find out more.

P.S. I checked other shows around the same time where tickets are not yet available. Some have an Artist Presale indicator. Others do not. Lucinda’s does not show an artist presale option. I sent them an email. Just an FYI.

“Opaque” indeed, Paul, but glad you west coast boys are likely to find a way to show. Not so secret an event after all, eh Tony? I believe there is to be a specific award presented to our Lu, though the word “salute” stops a bit shy of that. Good luck to you both!

I received a timely and extremely non-illuminating response from The Troubadour that said Friday’s sale does not require a password. Nothing about today. D’oh!

Admittedly that didn’t go well. I was in 20th in line at 10 am and was allowed to select my ticket, then immediately told no tickets were available. So there’s that.

Similar for me as tonyg. I entered the line at 10 AM, and was told no tickets are available. Doesn’t say sold out, just no tickets are available.
On Facebook, the Americana Music Association page indicates that members were sent an exclusive presale offer. Apparently, the presale was allowed to buy all the tickets.

Sorry Paul. GrumpyMama reports same. Sucks to be us I guess.

Yeah, an Americana thing it was, as I had heard. You three deserve entry though. Jed Hilly and his dues-payers triumph again. But use whatever means you have to crash it. Good luck.

I am going to duct tape a guitar case to my torso and try and walk in the back.

    I’m still confused… lol…

Is this a Lu performance or people performing for Lu? Or both? Lol.

Anyways they ARE live streaming it here:

Ha, probably more a matter of others performing for LU, though I remain as “opaque” about it here in the American South as you probably do in New England, Sean. The west coast contingent should be able to tell us more. And kudos to tonyg for planning a Blaze Foley imitation and joining the performers. If you can’t get in on the audience portion of the house, join the artist ranks, I’d say. The man has a torso, to be sure.

Mr. Stoger has this one figured out. It will be a tribute to Lu by various performers backed by a house band of luminaries such as Greg Leisz and Val McCallum. Lu and her band will perform at the end for how long I do not know. The Troubadour will be overstuffed with celebrities and their entourages. Getting in unauthorized will require all of one’s skills plus more.

Still, duct tape worn over a tuxedo should impress the TRUE Lu fans in the entourage.

An E-Mail today (Friday, Feb. 3) promoting the live-stream specifies 16 musical acts to perform Lucinda’s classic songs.

The listed performers are Jade Bird, Brandy Clark, Madison Cunningham, Sierra Ferrell, Lucius, Lori McKenna, The Milk Carton Kids, Mumford & Sons, Aoife O’Donovan, Grace Potter, Katie Pruitt, Allison Russell, Brittney Spencer, Molly Tuttle, Sara & Sean Watkins and Dwight Yoakam.

Looks like a busy Saturday night for limousines, sound checkers, and string tuners.
