Great show last night. Highlight for me was the fabulous blues triple shot of Disqusted>Come to Me Baby>Joy. Colin Linden (local blues man), and Carrie injected some serious energy. Butch, the new drummer, is a good addition to my ears. Looking forward to Buffalo. I hope she mixes the setlist up a bit.

Massey Hall show last night was absolutely magic!
For those who don’t know, Toronto’s Massey Hall is a beautiful 100 year old music theatre in the heart of the city. It has been a venue that has brought out the best in a wide variety of performers from Gordon Lightfoot, to Neil Young to Keith Richards.
Lucinda Williams made it plain she was excited and proud to be there last night.
She was as warm and nervous as a schoolgirl on a first date.
After messing up the intro to Ventura a few times she admitted she couldn’t read the lyrics without her glasses…that kind of honest humour is priceless.
Her singing was spine tingling on Those Three Days and Unsuffer Me and Fruits of My Labours.
Wonderful to hear the band rocking out on Come On and Righteously.
The guest spot with Toronto’s own Colin Linden swapping some blistering blues licks with Doug Pettibone was an unexpected treat.
By the time Lucinda was swaggering through Real Live Bleeding Fingers, i thought i’d died and gone to heaven.
All i can say is thank you….and please come back soon.

i noticed from my seat in the front row that there were several fancy Sennheiser mics pointed out at the audience on either side of the stage…this generally indicates a soundboard recording is being made.
Lets hope the recording was successful and the fans get a chance to hear it.

I was also at Lucinda’s concert at Massey Hall last night, and what a treat! I found her to be happy to be there, talkative and humorous, especially when she kept messing up the first few words into one of my favourites which was actually Those Three Days. The drummer was great and Doug Pettibone fabulous, however, I think my favourite Lucinda guitarist would have to be Kenny Vaughn. And, a funny thing happend to my boyfriend and I as we were heading back home to London from Toronto today, listening to Carrie Rodrigez’s new cd. We pulled off the highway to stop at a Tim Horton’s, one that was attached to a gas station and have never stopped at before. I got out of the car to see Carrie Rodrigez and her band hopping back into their van. THey were all heading to Buffalo for the next gig with Lucinda tonight. We spoke briefly and she graciously signed our cd. Small world, huh? All in all it was a perfect birthday gift to my boyfriend.
