From Tom:
I guess this is where you separate the pros from the posers. After an exhilarating show in Hampton Beach we drove to the hotel at the Boston airport -unloaded the US bus and finally got into our rooms in time to sleep for a few hours before a long travel day. And a long travel day it was. From Boston to London Heathrow get on shuttle and hurry to gate to catch flight to Hamburg. After the near 2 hour flight Hamburg we get in cars and drive 2 1/2 hours to Tonder, Denmark. It was a nice drive thru Northern German, albeit with a lot of road construction keeping parts of the freeway down to one lane, and thus a lot of traffic. But once we got near Tonder you started to se these amazing old villages in the Danish countryside, and then driving into Tonder you realize it’s something very special and historic. After a quick look at Wikipedia you realize that remote this little village on not quite 7000 people goes back to the 1100’s. Pretty spectacular. Suddenly we weren’t quite as road weary. Time to get some showers and check this place out. We found our way to a little Italian place and the owner and our gracious host was Sergio from Sicily and Hammond B3 organ player. He really took care of us and then he told us he was going to sell the restaurant and start playing music again. Not being a young guy we told him that he seemed to be doing pretty well with food biz. He just laughed. As were sitting outside on the cobblestone a couple were walking by and recognized Lucinda -“ohhh Lucy-we drove down from Copenhagen to see you!! Very sweet people who asked if Lucinda could play Still I long For Your Kiss which we hadn’t played in over a year. And of course Lu played it and it sounded pretty damn good. We had a terrific time in Tonder and it is a great and very well run festival. It was the perfect place to catch our breath and start the European leg of the tour.
