Great show and as always, Elvis hits the cover off the ball here in Fenwaytown. Having Jerry Douglas and Jim Lauderdale as a part of this Sugarcanes touring outfit really is a one-of-a-kind tour experience complete with a full time squeeze box and stand-up bass. Yeah, even no drums, which is exceptionally difficult playing to a live audience. But he’s one of the best, that’s for sure. After seeing Elvis about 25-times over the past 30-years, it just gets better and better. Perhaps most impressive is Elvis Costello’s pension for guitars. Last night he broke out the 1958 Gretsch Tenor Guitar that he bought from one of Elvis Presely’s past axemen (a four-string super-country guit that does nothing else but scream twang!) His wiki fansite is off the hook as well (www.elviscostello.info). You can youtube a bit of last night here:
