Thank you for the laughs also.
I think I’m signing off too.
We should go back on line Sunday for the real show.

Looks like I didn’t miss much! 😉

No, I didn’t forget or go Christmas shopping, y’all. 😆 We were out for dinner & drinks with old friends. Besides, I’m not much of one for awards shows.

I’ll miss Sunday night, too. We are going to see Dawn Landes & Justin Townes Earle…

Oh, you didn’t see Paul’s post about the spoiler? The Americana category was one of many that was awarded pre-show. Levon Helm took the Grammy.

Lucinda, you should be so proud to have been nominated and in such stalwart company. It was a great category with musicians I think you truly respect.

Peace, love, and keep writing music that fills our soul.

Yes, Lafayette, we were all disappointed with the results in the Americana Album of the Year category. Nonetheless, Lu should indeed be very proud to have been included in such spectacular company as the other nominees…

Oooh, pre-show huh? Laaaaame. I wanted to see the camera zoom in on all their faces as they got mentioned as nominees. I really don’t care about seeing taylor swift and beyonce over and over again! But yes, congrats to Levon Helm, and to Lucinda, for being a part of that. It must have been a fun time for all of them.

There is a clip of Taylor Swift singing a duet with Stevie Nicks that is very painful to listen to. Whatever talent Taylor Swift has, her voice is another thing altogether. 🙄

Okay, I didn’t see the performance, but based on Taylor Swift’s performance on SNL, I believe that she can’t really sing. There’s clearly a ton of production involved on her albums, because she doesn’t sound nearly as good live. And I just flat out don’t like her songwriting. Sorry, all you Taylor Swift fans out there. 8)

Anyway, there’s an interesting blog entry here about her winning album of the year: http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/turn_it_up/2010/02/taylor-swift-and-the-grammys-is-that-all-there-is.html

Perhaps best of all are a couple of the comments about her, and about her duet with Stevie Nicks. About her, someone said “Taylor Swift is to music what Stephenie Meyer is to literature.” About the duet, someone said “They put her on the same stage as Stevie Nicks? That’s like a fire hydrant painter doing his work alongside a Picasso class painter.”

All I can say about the performance is that it makes me appreciate people like Lucinda Williams all the more. ***TEAM LUCINDA***
