In addition to The Lost Notebooks of Hank Williams, Bob Dylan fans can expect even more new product, including a previously unreleased track from 1981’s Shot Of Love sessions.
1. Hawaii Five-O: Original Songs From The Television Series [Soundtrack] (CBS Records, October 4)
This soundtrack features the 1981 Bob Dylan recording of “Don’t Ever Take Yourself Away,” an “unfinished” song recently completed and embellished by Nikki Jean, and released as “Steel and Feathers (Don’t Ever).”
Here’s some information about the track from Alan Fraser’s Searching For A Gem site:
Minnesotan singer Nikki Jean (Nicholle Jean Leary), formerly a member of group Nouveau Riche, was given an “unfinished” song STEEL AND FEATHERS (DON’T EVER) from Bob’s 1981 “Shot Of Love” sessions, and has completed the song, to be included on her upcoming S-Curve US album “Pennies In A Jar”, to be released on 12 Jul 2011. The song is actually DON’T EVER TAKE YOURSELF AWAY, which circulates amongst Dylan collectors on several bootlegs such as “The Genuine Bootleg Series.” She’s revised Bob’s lyrics, rewriting the verses but keeping the tune and choruses.
Dylan tried two takes of “Don’t Ever Take Yourself Away” at Clover Recorders, Los Angeles, on April 23, 1981. Here’s the line-up:
Bob Dylan (vocal & guitar), Danny Kortchmar (guitar), Steve Ripley (guitar), Benmont Tench (keyboards), Tim Drummond (bass), Jim Keltner (drums), Carolyn Dennis, Regina Havis & Clydie King (backing vocals).

The Rolling Thunder Revue from the Palace Theatre, Waterbury, CT 11/11/1975, 39 songs over 2 hours of listening.Concert Summary
Other than Bob Dylan’s controversial 1965 and 1966 tours, when he first made the transition into highly amplified electric music on stage, no Dylan tour is more highly regarded than the initial leg of his legendary Rolling Thunder Revue Tour at the tail end of 1975. Occurring directly after the recording sessions for his Desire album and with a huge cast of characters involved in the revue-style concerts, this tour has become a landmark in not only Dylan’s career as a performing musician, but in the careers of all involved. This high-quality recording from Bill Graham’s archive,…Here’s the link.

February 27, 2012 at 7:10 pm #34431LeftyParticipantRumors (and only rumors) circulating on the “Interweb”…
Bob Dylan, along with Neko Case, Mary J. Blige, the Decemberists, Weezer, Hole, and J. Cole, are rumored to play Washington’s Seattle Center in early September.
A North American tour in October and November, possibly with Mark Knopfler, is also being bandied about.
