Why would anyone go out of their way for anybody’s autograph ???? It’s because of sidewalk sniffers that artists have to draw the line somewhere as to how best to interact with their fanbase.
Asking for an autograph is an accepted way of getting to meet someone. It’s not about the signature. It’s an ice-breaker for a nervous fan and a tired artist.
I don’t collect autographs so I don’t seek them but if I do get a chance to meet someone like Lucinda I just try and say something non-stupid.
