Williams, Peyroux book dates for JazzFest 2011Times Colonist March 15, 2011 Singer-songwriters Lucinda Williams and Madeleine Peyroux will perform at the TD Victoria International JazzFest 2011 in June.
Williams plays the Royal Theatre on June 27, while Peyroux plays the Royal on June 24. Tickets for each show are $55.50 and $45.50 plus service fees. Tickets, going on sale Friday, can be purchased at 250-386-6121 or the Royal and McPherson box offices (http://www.rmts.bc.ca).

Peyroux makes her third appearance at Victoria International JazzFest. Often compared to Billie Holiday, Peyroux started singing as a teenager with street musicians in Paris’s Latin Quarter.

Loving it.Yay!! I know you left-coasters have been doing a lot of listening to how much fun we east coasters have been having. Y’all deserve some of the fun, too. 🙂

March 28, 2011 at 8:42 pm #46417Mike_DoranParticipantI was close… No Vancouver in between Victoria and Seattle..
Slight discrepancy (at least technically) under “SHOWS”…
City there should read “Victoria” as that is the city where the concert is in..
The jazz festival is The Vancouver International… and it does list it as being in several venues
around Vancouver, but as the link correctly points out, this one is a long ferry ride and several cities away from Vancouver… in Victoria.I’ll be at Seattle and Portland though!! * (and Vancouver if it gets added..)
March 29, 2011 at 2:51 am #46418tntracyParticipantSSM – Victoria is closer to Seattle & Portland than Vancouver. Do you not “do” ferry rides? ❓
Tom
March 29, 2011 at 3:54 pm #46419Mike_DoranParticipantTom..
I “do” them quite nicely….I live 45 minutes (including border at the right time) from downtown Vancouver..
I am 80 minutes (and NO borders) from SeattleVictoria, while not out of the question, is 1 1/2 hours and $$$ further than Vancouver…(EACH WAY!!)
I (and my family) am traveling to the Gulf Coast in part to see Lu..
I have driven to San Francisco in part to see Lu..But, with so many other venues on the West Coast… Victoria just doesn’t have the draw…

I wasn’t quite sure where you were coming from (geograpically speaking, that is 🙂 ). And, living in North Georgia, I don’t “do” ferry rides often enough to have a feel for the time & expense required for taking them… 😉
