I saw him play the ukulele last year at “Eddie’s Attic,” a first for me.
Thanks for the link!

He’s been playing Live at Ventura Blvd (free booze YAY!) on Friday evenings. Last week Duane Betts and Waylon Rector sat in on a few songs. This performance just wails…WAILS.

High quality video Lafayette. Duane is sure following his dad’s talent joining Stoll’s new band.
Here’s another from Cut Recordings I enjoyed (you’ve probably already seen) with Stoll covering Townes Van Zandt’s “Two Hands” featuring everything about Kentucky including Stoll wearing a Col. Sanders tie.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o01LS4jfkNk
Lafayette, I don’t know how many air travel rewards points you have on hand now, but it would be Kool for you to see Stoll in LA on Sat. Feb. 15th at the Lyric-Hyperion Theatre as per his website.
THEN stick around to the 18th for the start of Lucinda’s World Tour and get to meet some of Lu’s faithful road warriors again. eg. bigsubi, Blessed, tonyg,Grumpy Mama, paul_from_losangeles, etc.lwj
February 7, 2014 at 5:06 pm #42123LafayetteParticipantLet it be known I was calculating and wishing I could make a Lu/Stoll tour itinerary a reality. Unfortunately, it’s not meant to be, lwj. West coast trips are difficult for me, especially during the school year. I’m going to have to rely on YouTube and FF posts to pull me through.

July 17, 2014 at 4:11 am #42125LafayetteParticipantI did! Thanks, lwj!
I just wrote a little report I posted to my FB page for all my JM friends who saw him open for Mellencamp in 2005.
A Stoll Vaughan update (for all those who saw him open for JM in 2005): I went to see him play this past Saturday at the Master Musician’s Festival in Somerset, KY, where he has family roots. It was a hot, muggy day (my kinda weather, actually). I was very happy to see him step out on stage, especially with his harmonica in tow. I’m a sucker for a harmonica player. He played a glorious 60 minute solo acoustic set, including many favorites of mine – “The Weatherman,” “Fade Away,” “Troubles,” and by audience request with a sing along, he covered John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery.” He knew I was going to be there with a comment I left on his facebook page. He acknowledged me by name early in his set, and much to my surprise, toward the end, began telling the history of his ‘girlfriend’ – how I had supported him from the very beginning, sent ‘boyfriend’ signs to shows with friends, bought him a cake for his birthday one year, and on and on. So nice. I was so flattered. He ended his set with a rousing “Alright.” I know many who absolutely love that song. I know I do!
I had the opportunity to talk to him afterwards. He is living in L.A. with his very sweet girlfriend (that would be his ‘real’ girlfriend), has a recording studio where he plays shows every now and then as well as artist development (worked/working with Jessica Childress from “The Voice” and Duane Betts, to name a few). He wrote a song for Sam Riddle, a country artist playing shows in Vegas. Check him out – 1) He’s a dyanmic performer 2) In his highlight reel I found on YouTube, he covers “Jack and Diane.” 😀 He has had several of his songs featured in “True Blood” and “The Office” AND he hopes to be recording a record very soon with a certain Mellencamp band member, his former manager and mentor, Mike Wanchic. I hope that happens sooner than later! Boyfriend is doing great. I just wish he would make it back home a little more often AND my Stoll Sistah Melissa Evans could have made the trip with me.
July 23, 2014 at 12:08 am #42126LWjettaParticipantReally enjoyed your report Lafayette.
I too love the harmonica ( Angela Perley and Neil Young ) for example.
Great how Stoll acknowledged your presence.lwj
