Liked her comments on the cover of Soldier Song by Sean Rowe..“I did it from the perspective of a soldier who’s over there and everything. This singer-songwriter Sean Rowe, oh my God. Tom played me a video clip of [his version of] “Soldier’s Song” on YouTube and I just about cried. It’s so good. It might be the best cover of mine that anybody’s done.”

Looking forward to (hopefully) hearing it live at UCLA next week..Great article! Love to hear her take on those records. I still love Happy Woman Blues – I remember asking her is she ever still played “King of Hearts” one of the first times we met back in 88 or 89. Gurf didn’t know the song at all. Lu kinda made a face and said “oh, man, that’s an oooold one.” I still love that record, and that song especially. Thanks for pointing us to that article – a great read!
