    there’s a sweet and endearing video of Lu performing “Side of the Road” at youtube. It says Pittsburgh, 7/21/07, but somehow this video has a transformative feel — like it could have been an acoustic moment caught in time years ago, the song sounds that fresh, she seems so innocent… for me, it’s a reminder that it’s still some of the best songwriting ever. I wish i had seen this show (curfew or not), just for this song alone.

    Ray,thank you so much for the post and the link.
    This is one of my favorite Lucinda songs and I’ve never heard it performed live before.
    Absolutely beautiful.

    It was wonderful. Transcending is a good word. Notice she chatted with the audience after the song. I think she was accused of not talking enough after that show. Oh well…

    yeah, thanks a lot for the link to this. this is my fave lucinda song and I’ve been lucky to see her do it once (maybe twice) but it’s never enough!!
