The owner of Zoeys in Ventura told me last night that Shannon will play there in July! It’s not on the calendar yet. I hope it is not while I am away on vacation.

Tony, the California dates include San Francisco, Cafe Du Nord, on Monday, July 15, and San Diego, Griffin, on Friday, July 19. The latter date does not appear on Shannon’s website, but displays at TicketWeb and the Griffin site. One might speculate that Zoey’s would land in the July 16-18 range.

I will so speculate Paul. I depart on the 18th so I will root for a show on the 16th or the 17th. 8)

Primarily for tonyg, and other SoCal fans: Shannon’s website has released some new dates, including: Thursday, July 18, at Zoeys in Ventura, and Saturday, July 20, at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.

Per Shannon’s Facebook and website pages this afternoon, Shannon has cancelled her July west-coast shows, due to a lack of funds. Mr. tonyg can activate his vacation, without missing Shannon. Of course, there’s still the Anne McCue show to consider…

Jeezuz. Those are all the great venues on the west coast. Sorry for her

This Anne thing is bugging me. Sucks that I am going to miss this show. I predict it will be well attended and a great night out.

That’s a blow to live music, to be sure. I still haven’t gotten my hands on that Bobby Charles tribute album, with its reputed sterling liner notes. No amount of Native American mysticism can assuage fans with tickets in the Far West, but I guess Shannon felt like she did what she had to do.

Shannon McNally is currently performing an almost-solo mini-tour of the Northeast USA.

I attended her brilliant performance last Saturday night in Montclair, NJ., at the Art Garage, a small studio in downtown Montclair. The show was warmly received by a sold-out audience of about 50-70 people. Shannon performed for 2 hours (including intermission) with acoustic guitar, accompanied on electric guitar by James Mastro, local guitar hero from nearby Hoboken.

Shannon returns to her Long Island birthplace on Wednesday night, Nov. 13, at the Grey Horse Tavern in Bayport.
