Serena is a Canadian two time Juno award winner who has a 3 octave vocal range and has often been compared to Janis Joplin.
She is appearing tonight and tomorrow at the Winter Olympics.

During a 2007 tour to Australia she was a “contestant” and performer on the weekly TV series called Rockwiz.
It is a very unique show that tests your music knowledge. It is MC’d by a very witty lady named Julie.
Serena appears with 3 songs on the show( including a duet with an Australian named Lior-song is NEIL’s Heart of Gold with Serena on guitar and harmonica ) and is quizzed on her knowledge of Hank Williams.

Rockwiz, if you search the site for past performances, you will also find Neko Case and Anne McCue ( an Australian gal who toured with Lucinda in 2002 and also was a special guest last September at the big First Avenue wedding. I believe tntracy met her there.
Here is the link to Serena’s appearance on Rockwiz. ( very entertaining fast-paced show that you will enjoy )

Tntracy posted under Lu General a great read from the Huffington Press entitled “Revealing New Interview w/Lu” on March 15th wherein you can find the link.

The same article was almost immediately followed by this article “Serena Ryder to spend Spring 2010 on the road”
It also is a great read on her bio and the many accolades.
The article outlines her tour schedule as well. Have a read.
I’m going to see Serena perform next week here in Ontario for the 3rd time.

And, just for those in the Atlanta area ( i.e. tntracy & Drunken Angel ) spend 12 bucks plus $2.98 in Ticket Alternative fees and see her in mid-town Atlanta at Smith’s Olde Bar on April 27th.
