i thought the same when lucinda played in wellington, new zealand. i enjoyed Buick 6 on their own but really struggled to hear that pure voice when they played behind lucinda (she even stopped the show to sort out the sound with little success)! still loved the show though as i’ve waited years to see her!
Nobody urges Lucinda to do anything she doesn’t want to do. I feel like I’m able to speak with some authority on that topic 😯
We were struggling with some sound issues in NZ -our normal front of house digital console was not able to be used in NZ due to some electricity conversion issues. We also had a new monitor person who ended up not being to par and did not work with us again after those shows.
Despite those problems both of the NZ shows were really great with truly terrific audiences. Lucinda just overall really loved NZ. Met some great people. Good memories from that visit.
