Just a few words to praise a brilliant musician, Sarah Jarosz, who performed the opening set for Kasey Chambers gig at Slim’s in San Francisco this past Tuesday night. Sarah sings and plays mandolin, guitar, and banjo, while accompanied by Nathaniel Smith on cello and Alex Hargreaves on fiddle. Very unique acoustic music, which blends country, folk, and rock into very exciting sounds.
An unusual experience was watching the members of the featured act stand with the audience to watch the opening act–as soon as Sarah started her set, Kasey and her band walked out from their private area to experience Sarah and her music.
Anyone near Los Angeles might note that Sarah Jarosz is the headline act at the Troubadour in West Hollywood this Thursday night, August 9. Sarah’s set is listed for 10 PM, Troubadour time.
