Except to say (and both vmorris & lafayette are disqualified here), can anyone name Lu’s guitarist for the evening? Hint: his initials correspond to a common English-language expletive which cannot be typed without censorship here.

Indeed, though pretty early on the west coast still. Between my hint and LWJ’s visual, surely we have a winner by now in the one-off guitarist sweepstakes. Further hint: this gentleman’s former band’s name (two words) has the initials of a popular long-running comic strip, and he himself has just released a record with his own new supporting band.

Your hints are great stoger, reminds me of a couple of FF contests. Name Lu’s middle name and name her type of car.
