Aw shucks, Lefty… 😳 Thanks!

I did have a Happy one, and still am in fact (despite it being the dreaded “5-0”). First, I reconnected with an old friend (we were in the second grade together) I’d lost contact with over 10 years ago. That was cool.

And, we just got back from our favorite Mexican restaurant (and one many Atlantans consider the best) in all of the Atlanta area. It is about 30 miles from our home, but it was a nice evening, so we took my Jeep, sans top & doors, and stuck to the surface streets. It is the best time of year to drive slow enough to smell all the wild honeysuckle blooming in low spots everywhere. It was a beautiful drive downtown, dinner was fabulous, the Pacifico ice cold (only two, I was driving) and the drive back was equally nice…..until we hit the thunderstorm. Luckily, it was of the “scattered / spotty” variety, and we blew through it fairly quickly w/o getting soaked to the bone. Then it as quickly cleared up for a nice remainder of a drive home. At least, that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it… 😉

Finally, before heading out to the back deck for a final cold one (chocolate stout this time), I see this. Thank you, sir…

happy birthday Tom! i turned 50 yesterday (14th). i should have gotten down to hear sara watkins at Largo for her cd release party,
but i stayed home and watched dirty harry with the 17 year old & husband (who brought home japanese food)……not sure what that says about 50, but it was good for moi!
