And, I thought this sounded familiar – TomO mention it here, but I think this is the first info posted here about the release. I ran the text through Google Translate & it says the UK release of See My Friends will be November 1st. I hope it will be released it the U.S. soon thereafter!

Here is a recent video interview from Wolfgang’s Vault-Crawdaddy Magazine with the 88 band that backed a number of songs for this Ray Davies album including Lu’s “Long Way From Home”
Also, have a listen to their song “They Ought to See You Now”
Sounds pretty darn good to me.

Listen to a 30 second clip of Lucinda singing “Long Way From Home” with the 88 on Ray’s new album due on Nov. 9th in the USA.( I think-earlier in Europe)
    Lu sounds great.

Click in the upper right hand corner to get Ray’s audio player and scroll down to Lu.

p.s. A bonus with the LP version.
Ray Davies speaks about the tracks from his new album ‘See My Friends’
He firstly talks about the original Kinks recordings before revealing how the new tracks came about.
There will be one clip for each of the 14 tracks, all of which will be included in the iTunes LP version of the album

she sounds amazing, indeed. but this is probably the first album in which a song that lucinda touched is not the most important for me.

RIP december boy alex chilton. big star covered this song (till the end of the day) on third/sister lovers (it’s a bonus track). here’s a nice video from ’07: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAQ8gqb3Zxk&p=55CF5CB9784E3E6A&playnext=1&index=4

“long way from home” could be a lucinda song from SoW, i think. it’s very memphis pearl-like.

just imagine lucinda covering waterloo sunset (or lola!!)… jackson browne is perfect for the job, but just imagine lucinda doing it…

You can hear “Long Way From Home” in its entirety as well as the rest of the album (with just a bit of dj interference) at this Dutch radio site:
