Lucinda & Chrissie would make for an edgy duet, imho.

ParticipantMakes me want to visit Akron, Lefty! Thanks for posting. Count me among her long-time fans, and I’ll second your suggestion of a duet (or more) with Lu!
Also, reading this and thinking about some of the recent posts, I had to wonder if Lucinda shares Chrissie’s sentiment, just a tiny bit: “…we were doing a lot of touring, and I just can’t stomach doing those old songs anymore. It’s just torture.”

ParticipantThat remark from Chrissie caught my eye, too, Ray. I’m glad she’s back in action.

The New Yorker, October 6, 2008The title of “Boots of Chinese Plastic,” which leads off the Pretenders’ new album, “Break Up the Concrete” (Shangri-La), alludes to Bob Dylan’s “Boots of Spanish Leather,” but the song’s propulsive rhythm and surreal lyrics mark it as a close cousin to another Dylan song, “Tombstone Blues.” In just over two and a half minutes, the lead singer and songwriter, Chrissie Hynde, touches on everything from reincarnation to the global marketplace to the difficulties of ethical living.
During my 3 or 4 listens to Break Up the Concrete, I have really enjoyed this song – so far, it is my favorite on the album…

ParticipantI originally ordered this on Amazon, but had to take my daughter to pick up an iPod Nano case and couldn’t resist picking it up at the music store. I find myself listening to this album over and over again. This is a Classic Pretender’s sound, she sounds the same as when I first “discovered” her about 20 years ago.
Paved down the middle, by a government that has no pride, Eye oh way to go Ohio (She is from Cleveland)
Now she wants to break up the concrete, I guess that Ohio poured.

“Everything I loved about music, it seems like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has destroyed.”
For such a short (edited) interview, this thing is loaded. 8)
