Portland 6/30

Expecting the need for a bit of a breather after a very busy stretch of the tour, we had an extra day off in Portland. There definitely could be worse places to have some extra time in and we all really enjoyed the beautiful city -and of course some great local pubs. With the extra day off everyone was raring to go, when showtime rolled around. There were several highlights on a tremendous night, but one in partuclar was truly special. At the end of Lu’s solo version of When I Look At The World the audience would not stop applauding. It was very apparent how stunned by that reaction Lu was. She just stood there in amazement, and was talking about it after the show, saying “it was all I could do to hold back the tears, I couldn’t believe it”. To see that kind of amazing moment between an audience and a performer is very special. That doesn’t happen every night. Other highlights included back to back tour debuts of Ventura and Copenhagen -Lu was really riding high by this point in the set and both songs were gorgeous.
Thanks Portland for letting us hang around for a couple days and thank for lifting Lu up for a really wonderful night. We will always make sure we come thru Portland every time we’re in the neighborhood.
