Sailors on leave, indeed. The only thing I’ll add is that Lu stood up throughout the sixteen-song set; strength and normalcy are on the rebound.

On leave from our senses, at least. Also, I am still exhausted.

What a great show this was I thought.
Lu really weathered the cold well, with the help of some hand warmers that she marveled about and later a scarf.

Great to see Tony and Grumpymama, after Stoger and I drove in from LA where we also travelled down to Irvine for her festival set.
Which was a bit of a rocky outing with the sun shining directly in Lu’s eyes making it difficult to read the monitor.

While there were very few hiccups in the set, when there was a couple moments where Lu had difficulty, the band really rallied and they all played through it, including at one point Butch softly singing the vocals, keeping the song on track. The band and crew that I could see from the sidelines were so supportive, it was great to see.

The show, setting, and company were all just fantastic in the desert.
Till next time, and after this show I now have no doubt there will be many, many more next times..

Good additions, Mike: even without band and crew, the “aftershow” was a nocturnal delight.

By the by, I gather the last show of the Willie tour was rained out up north. Sacramento.
