This news just in from Grumpymama: Lu at Pappy & Harriets in Pioneertown on Monday, October 18. Hilariously, I will be in Nashville that weekend but I will try and leave early.

Several of the FF faithful managed to buy tickets to this event. It wasn’t easy. You somehow have to know to go to a site called ticketweb to purchase. This is after I called Pappy and Harriet’s and some old lady answered and I asked “do I buy tickets on line or do I call?” and she said I have no idea I have never bought tickets.

So there’s that. See you there Grumpymama and Stellabluee ( I forget how many “e”‘s there are at the end of her name.

Stoger, feel free to correct my grammar on “e”‘s.

Ha ha. I’ve been to Pappy’s and H’s but never dealt with “old ladies” per se. And let me know about that Nashville trip either here or via my email, for I may be around. For the record, ticketweb is a pretty friendly, lower-scale outlet than ticketmaster/bastard; I’ve seen a few Southern shows ticketing through ticketweb. And I too will fly from Nash to the desert for this; at least that’s the plan for now.

P.S. Your grammar is impeccable, T.

Was a little concerned with the Lu adopting Isbell’s “vax or proof or we don’t play” policy going forward, that Pappy and Harriets’ might choose to not require it.

    Not the case though. Whew.
    From their site:

“In the interest of keeping our guests and staff protected and healthy, Pappy + Harriet’s will now require all attendees of upcoming shows to show proof of either a full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 PCR test result.

All attendees will be required to show one of the following for entry at Pappy + Harriet’s along with a government issued ID:

    · Your vaccine card
    · A clear and legible photocopy of your vaccine card
    · Photo of your vaccine card on your phone
    · A digital vaccine passport or record
    · A negative COVID-19 PCR test result obtained within 72 hours of the event

In addition, we are asking all patrons to do the following while on site: Comply with the Pappy + Harriet’s Fan Health Pledge and wear a mask whenever indoors.”

This will be fun. Also staying within walking/stumbling distance at an Airbnb house so could do it there too…

Driving into the desert yesterday dark clouds hovered in the general direction of Pioneertown and I was worried it was going to be a rough night outdoors in the elements but no rain fell. It was nippy. Props to Lu and the fellers for toughing it out. Lu was in great spirits and thanked the huge crowd many times. It was fab to see Forum legends Grumpymama, Stoger, SamishMike and Peggy French. Mr. Stoger was kind enough to host a party for the FF after and as you can imagine we tore it up like sailors on leave. My plan is to never go anywhere again until this virus goes away.
