Overtime on Youtube

Just wanted to post a big thanks to the person who uploaded Overtime from Jools Holland’s BBC programme, Later. I despaired of ever seeing this again.This was the first time I’d seen or even heard Lu. She gets a lot of good press in the quality papers here in the UK and it was in the Guardian I first came across her name. It mentiond her unique voice I recall. I thought how interesting it made her sound and I thought I should check her music out. Not long after I saw she was to appear on said programme. I watched with anticipation mixed with dread. Dread, because how often has an artist been recommended by friends or a writer only for you to be eventually unimpressed. So I watched Lu sing this song and I was blown away. It seemed to sum up how I was feeling at that moment. Since then I have made up for lost time and bought the albums and seen Lu twice – once meeting her afterwards. I have loved been on this website too and reading everyones posts. It really does make me feel like a part of a big and welcoming family.
