Does anyone know anything about Buick 6? They’re being advertised as the opening act for alot of the shows on the tour. There’s a band that goes by that name in England that plays Delta Blues & Folk. I can’t find anything on their website that mentions coming over to this country, though.

Buick 6 is now the name of Lucinda’s band. They have made an all instrumental record that is just fantastic (a couple of amazing covers) and will be opening most of the headline shows this year. I don’t think anyone will be disappointed.

Is it the same band that she had at the end of last year?

i’d say that Buick is one sweet ride. Not your father’s Buick, it’s got a lot of miles, but never runs out of gas….

just guessing, and I’m often wrong when i do that, but is the Buick 6 name from the song on Dylan’s Hwy 61 Revisited?

Buick 6 is a fine English band that has existed for some 20 years. The front man is singer/songwriter/guitarist/mandolinist Roger Hubbard who is well known in blues circles around the world. On bass is Colin Gibson who has played with many people including Ginger Baker, Snafu, Alan Hull and (I kid you not) Shirley Bassey. The band’s drummer is the formidable Liam Genockey who is also a member of Steeleye Span and has played with Richard & Linda Thompson, Paul Brady, John Martyn, Gerry Rafferty, Robert Wyatt, Penguin Café Orchestra and many more. Colin and Liam also provide backing vocals.

    Check them out on www.buick6.com.

As much as I love Lucinda’s work, I think she should change the band name – maybe to Buick 5…
